Smaller Indiana

Making people and ideas findable

May he rest in Peace

A few months back I posted a blog on my friend, Waymon Tisdale. It made me smile. It made many people smile.

Today I and many others are in tears becasue our dear friend had been taken from this earth.

He fought a gallant fight. He lived a gallant life.

His courageous fight has earned his a seat on the right-hand side of God.

Rest in Peace, my friend!

A far cry from that arrogant basketball player I met in 1988.

I had heard he was supposed to be here for a concert in the fall.

You know, his questions to me at that time (being a newby in Indianapolis and not knowing basketball AT ALL) was "Don't you know who I am??!!"

Yes, Waymon. Today we are proud to say "WE DO!"

Just like this picture shows, he always had that smile on his face. Seems to have been a great guy. Prayers for his family.

Waymon was an underrated pro b-ball player. He was an excellent roll player and did it well. And, he was just as good a musician. Truly a talented guy.
