This interactive map from the folks at 1000 Words is a collective representation of the endorsements made by US newspapers for the 2008 presidential candidates. As of the date of this posting, Senator Barack Obama (D) leads Senator John McCain (R) in the number of endorsements he has received from major newspapers.

That's an interesting point that I could definitely sit and talk about for hours as I'm a journalist by education. I posted this more because it's an example of the type of technologies I'm excited about. It just so happens this example was timely and I thought the election example might be of interest to some of our community neighbors.

And nobody sees anything wrong with Newspapers endorsing political candidates? The same newspapers that are supposed to objectively report the news?
