Smaller Indiana

Making people and ideas findable

Good afternoon SMIN friends!

As a contract graphic designer one of my most exciting clients is a new, local, monthly publication.

The new magazine, called Indy Magazine, launched June 19, 2008. As you can guess, it is all about Indy and it's surrounding areas. Each month the magazine will feature one of Indy's finest residents, business spotlight, band of the month, restaurant review, health and fitness, personal finances, legal advice, environmental topics, fashion and beauty tip as well as interests around circle city.

To make this your magazine Indy Magainze would like to know your interests. What would like to read about from your community?

Know of any outstanding leaders, unique businesses, entertaining musicians? Something going on you'd like your community to know?

Is there a topic you would like to know more about?
Would you like to write about something?

Please, Let me know! I will get you in contact with the publisher - Alan at alan@indymag.net

It is free to the readers and can be found in restaurants, hotels, rest stops, salons, doctor's offices and many more. We are working on both distribution and ad sales.

You can also contact me for distribution and ad sales information.

Looking forward to your thoughts!

Since posting this in June I have had several comments about MY magazine. I appreciate the interests, but need to make it clear that I am the designer - contract designer. I have my own design business and the magazine a client. It is the type of client I enjoy working for, but I am not the magazine. I have no say in anything beyond what it looks like.

I will gladly make a contact for anyone who is interested in talking with the publisher.
I also design for Travel Host magazine, Coffee News newsletter and several other clients who need logos, advertising and business materials.

I do really appreciate the interests.

Stacy,

Let me know if you need any help in Hendricks County. I would like to expand my writing business.

How's the magazine going Stacey? Don't hesitate to contact me if there's anything I can do to help you out. I have extensive experience as the art director for a few local magazines. Certainly my photography is the strength that I'm most actively pursuing. However, I'm still active with my design work.

Stacey,

I'm excited to hear about this new mag! I'm a writer and am always looking for opportunities to write for the local market. What do I need to do to get connected with the editor?

A few things to consider before joining Smaller Indiana:
1. We want to know the real you...Please use your real name (first and last) when you sign up, or we cannot open your account

2. We want to know the real you...Please do NOT use your Smaller Indiana blog for blatant self promotion

3. We want to see your smiling face...Please do not use logos or commercial images for your profile photo

5. Please do NOT post commercial video (demo reels), or Corporate Website promotions in your blog
