Indy to Compete in Global Startup Weekend Competition - Will You Be There?

I just returned from the first ever Global Start Up Weekend organizerconference. I have to admit I am really jazzed about what is being accomplished in communities around the world using the StartUp Weekend model. From the first ever joint Israeli/Palestinian weekend, to potential business owners hoping to start dry cleaning business and resturaunts in Dubai, organizers like me are making an impact in their local community.

We are going to have a chance to put some of these ideas into practice at our own StartUp Weekend on November 12-14. http://indianapolis.startupweekend.org/register/ ; The winning team will be competing with winners from five cities around the world which are running events at the same time. Sofia, Bulgaria, Beirut, Lebanon and Boston and Lexington here in the US . Even if you can't attend the weekend, we would love to have you participate in the report outs on Sunday night

Previous events here in Indy have brought together individuals ranging in age from 17 – 70 with skills across disciplines from developers and designers to marketing, finance and business development. Several companies have emerged, and we expect more of the same later this fall.

Once again, the Purdue Research Park has agreed to host the event, and the planning committee is lining up everything from the food and logistics to program elements, judges and sponsors. You can see a preliminary
schedule here: http://indianapolis.startupweekend.org/launch/

If you have never been to one of these events, it is an amazing high energy experience, which is about building a foundation for an entrepreneurial ecosystem that will expand and grow after the weekend. I know you are already involved in helping to build this ecosystem, so I hope you will consider becoming a part of Start Up Weekend.

So how can you get involved? Any of the following would be great: Promote the event to your employees, customers, associates Come to the event :Register here: http://indianapolis.startupweekend.org/register/ Become a sponsor: Info here http://startupweekend.org/sponsors/ Become a mentor or judge : Call me for details - 317-569-1396
