Making people and ideas findable

As a service to our community, Operation "OpenUP!" is registered with the Department of Workforce Development to receive a loan of 4 computers for 1 year.

The primary purpose for these computers is to allow members of our community more flexibility in filing their unemployment claims, filing weekly vouchers and allowing access to any other services that WorkOne might offer. As I have recently signed up for the MindLeaders program, I see the computers being an asset for training purposes. They are not wireless capable and the monitors are the older CRTs so they are not flat screen. They do not print, so for those taking MindLeaders workshops, you would have to print your certificates elsewhere, though you can access the workshops from these computers.

I am currently taking requests for placement of the computers. If you are (or are affiliated with) a church business or organization that might be interested in serving your community in this way, please send an email to operationopenup@gmail.com. Please include your name, the name of the contact person if it is not you, the name, address and phone of the organization and any applicable websites and where the computer will be located. Also, include a small overview of what you do within the email. If you are referring me to another prospect, I would appreciate you letting the other party know that they have been referred by you and why. They might also need to understand that lite traffic is required as a term to fulfilling my agreement as persons have to be able to file their unemployment claims. (Not the volume of traffic of a WorkOne office. This will be considered a satellite location.)

I would like to see the computer holders develop and/or hold some types of additional training that features the Mindleaders workshops. After talking today with Tracey Reynolds-Johnson, Staff Development and Training/MIS quality Control Specialist and trainer of the MindLeaders Training Workshop, a plan has been put into place for those who receive the loaned computers to have information on additional training opportunities available for the users. We want to make sure that those who come in to use the computers to file their claims are made aware of all the training opportunities available. When your computer is placed, you will not be required to do anything other than make the information available, either by handing it out or sitting it next to the computer. I see this as an opportunity for you to inform users of your own programs and opportunities as well! The beautiful thing about the Mindleaders program is that one can use it whether employed, seeking employment or unemployed. It's is pure "D" educational enhancement and it's FREE! Coupled with the other advantages that WorkOne, JobWorks and the Department of Workforce Development is making available to its clients, one can't lose.

Please send your requests by April 7th, 2009. I will call you for a short discussion and make my decision as to where the computers will placed by April 13th. Recipients will be phoned and emailed and will be required to pick up their computers within one week or the opportunity will be passed on to the next in line. I ask that the computers are returned to me by a specified date (according to my upline, TBA). Recipients must remember that these computers are on loan to me and I am entrusting them with the computers so as to serve our community on a broader basis for the greater good. Therefore, if your office will be moving the computer at any time for ANY reason from the location(s) to which you initially listed, please let me know so that I stay on the Department of Workforce Development's good kid list!

This is an amazing opportunity and I thank you for helping me with it!
