Smaller Indiana

Making people and ideas findable

Bruce Allen

Indianapolis blogMOB April 14, 2008 Monument Circle 12 noon--from wordpress.com

Come be a part of a FUN event designed to raise awareness of Indiana as a tech-savvy place to live and work. Bloggers and other digital mavens will gather on Monument Circle at noon on Monday, April 14. It will be streamed live to the world. It will be a hoot. This is a pre-event to promote the blogIN Unconference on April 26th.

We have no agenda, but we do have purpose. We want to raise awareness locally about the power of the Internet, specifically blogging. We want to create a visible, visual demonstration of that power. We want to engage lunchtimers on the Circle, let them know what we’re up to. And we want to remind people about the cool blogIN UnConference coming up on Saturday, April 26 at the IUPUI School of Informatics. More about the blogIN later. But if you work in downtown Indianapolis, mark your calendar as “BUSY” during lunch on April 14th.

On the 14th, we invite you to wear blue or yellow, bring your laptop and/or an umbrella, and join us on Monument Circle from noon to 1 pm. There is free WiFi on the circle for those of you wishing to hook up digitally. We will be videotaping the event. You might make the evening news. Join Smaller Indiana at our "happening" on the circle to spotlight our interchange on the information highway.

It was fun. Thanks for putting it together. I think we will create some good buzz. We certainly handed out enough cards, and with local news there, i think we will have a lot of folks looking at us more closely.

who knew that no one in downtown Indy goes to lunch!

I'll be there. I will also be helping Chris Bluto set up his blog at South Bend Chocolate Company an hour before the BlogMOB. If anyone else wants some help, show up at 11:00 at SBCC on the Circle.
