I'll preface this blog by stating that I'm not heavily into politics at all....I pay attention more now that I'm a little older than I was 20 years ago and we have a major Presidential election coming up. I won't debate with you about why I'll vote one way or another. This talk of Palin and Obama not having any or enough experience got me thinking after some events this past week.
What I want to talk about is this recent "Bail Out" or "Remedy" or "Rescue" or whatever the hell they want to call it. I have about as much use for a crooked politician as a tack on a toilet seat. Following a close second is an overpaid CEO of a company that he ran said company into financial "issues" and gets a $16M golden parachute because the corporation decided he was not competent to do his job. Or maybe it's the Members of the Board that vote to give him that chute, hell, I don't know who to target for my anger. Props to the CEO for "getting his", I guess?
When I heard that AIG execs spent $23380 on SPA TREATMENTS AFTER THE FIRST MONIES WERE ISSUED by our experienced lawmakers...I 'bout flipped out! I sat on my couch with my mouth open thinking "How in the HELL does that happen?"
I'm not a dumb guy, I'm not the smartest guy and I'm not savvy enough to fully understand this BAIL OUT (finances aren't my thing)....but I know crooks when I see them...eh, hem AIG. I don't fully know if the monies for the bailout were absolutely necessary?
As a taxpayer. I felt like it's a slap in the face but as an American I kinda felt like something needed to be done to help the situation because our economy is messed up right now...and AIG just proved this REALLY IS the LAND OF OPPORTUNITY with this bullshit!
That brings me to the whole tie in of experience....if I take the stance of slapped in the face (which I'm really kinda feeling and was feeling before it was voted on and passed)....Does it really matter how much experience Obama or Palin have should their respective party get voted in next month?
Really?......Our "experienced" lawmakers just gave $700B up to help our nation's economy and got flipped the big
F-U by AIG. Hell, I coulda made that mistake and I'll NEVER be in office! Yeah, it's the Presidency and Vice Presidency at stake but really....After this crock of shit by AIG, could it really be that bad to have somebody in office who lacks experience. At least then we'll have something to point to as to why the decision was not a good one.
Here's hoping that the "experienced" lawmakers kick AIG in their pampered and exfoliated, spa treated - fat asses for what was a kick to the groin of the American public.
Still shocked and wishing I could do something.....I guess I'll go vote next month and you should too.
Rant over...
