Genie Goykhberg Thank you, Mother Siam - Food! to be continue...

Thai was always my favorite cuisine. I was surprised that Thai food here in Indy was not that much different from mt experience in Thailand (I've heard from the tourists who traveled to China that authentic Chinese food has nothing to do with Chinese food in US - it was not a case with Thai food). I've lost 10 bl while in Thailand eating a loooooooot! I already gain 5 back on my American diet (and I am much more conscious of what crosses my lips then 90% of American... still). We've met a Germa… Continue

Faith Wesstrom How adventurous are you in taste?

I love trying different things for my cooking. I use Sprite, Coke, beer, wine and even coffee (not all at the same time) to make sauces or marinate. I tend to get the wide eyed look and "What?" when I tell people that. I guess the idea of using these ingredients (mainly the sodas and… Continue

Genie Goykhberg Diet & Nutrition - Avoid the Damage! series with the Tao Master Reid

One of the great advantages of study the Tao philosophy is that the same basic principles apply to everything from the macrocosmic to the microcosmic. When it comes to the diet the Tao principle of balancing Yang and Yin is established by harmonizing the Four Energy* and Five Flavor" in foods. * - The Four Energy are: Hot, Warm, Cool & Cold. These categories define the nature and the intensity of energy released in the human system when food is digested. Hot and Warm foods belong to Yang; C… Continue

Faith Wesstrom Color my salmon

A sashimi lover and one who grew up eating seafood at least 4 days of the week, I have a craving or two for the raw fresh stuff ever so often. Luckily, there is a good Japanese restaurant close enough to satiate that craving. Salmon sashimi is always available and the color is usually the first thing I look at to determine if it’s “good”. Well, I was enjoying my first piece today, when I realized that I have a packet of smoked salmon waiting in the fridge! Oop! My wandering mind then goes on to… Continue

The internet has been a buzz with talk of conspiracy, genetically-modified foods, contamination, restrictions on organic farming, and backyard gardens being banned.
