Theresia Whitfield Match Update

We found out today that we're back to square one with the adoption process. The birth mother we spoke to a couple of weeks ago has chosen another family to adopt her child. For them, we are thrilled. And we are excited to know that her child will have a good home to go to. For us, it's a little bittersweet. Read more... Continue

Douglas Karr My Healthcare Rant (a different perspective than Mike's)

I wanted to write a different perspective than Mike's Rant on Healthcare. Healthcare is broke. You know it. I know it. People talk about the expense involved in universal health care and paying Americans having to foot the bills for non-paying Americans. Guess what? You already pay. If I don't have insurance and I get in a car wreck, I still get services and you still pay for it. There areContinue

Patric Welch When Twitter asks “What are you doing?” one man replies “I’m having a baby”

Whenever I talk about Twitter to noobies, they always look at me with that "what is it again?" or "I just don't get it" look on their face. Even after I explain what it is and how people use it, they still can't figure out why it so popular. Thanks to a series events that happened almost a week ago, I now have a better answer when people ask me what Twitter is. I'm going to tell them, it's for having a baby. I'm able to say this because a friend whom I follow on Twitter (for privacy sake I am… Continue

Since I never post here anymore, I'm not sure if anyone will see this. But, I wanted to share the news with my fellow Smoosiers... Monday at 5:10 AM, my wife delivered our first baby. Alexandra Rose Coffey weighed in at 5 lbs, 15 oz and 18 inches long. She was about 5.5 weeks early and surprised us all. She is currently in the NICU, but doing very well and so far all the tests are coming back good. Still waiting to see how long she has to stay. Here is a picture of her and mommy: (… Continue

Rebecca Holloway Indy Baby & Toddler Expo

I went to the Indy Baby and Toddler expo this weekend with my hubend, 5yr daughter and two yr old son. We had a blast! The exhibitors were fantastic! A huge verity of every thing parents of little ones need. The Hugga a Bug Face painting was top notch as always. They also did a very cool expecting baby belly painting! They painted a few ladies baby bumps and it was very cool! Aunt Ruthie's Tea Time hosted a Princess Tea party that was strait out of a fairy tale. My husband and daughter attended… Continue

Patric Welch Technology even has a place for moms-to-be

Last night while attending the Smaller Indiana 4,000 member party, I met a woman who was five months pregnant. Since our primary reason for attending the event was to do a little networking we exchanged stories about what we each did for a living and then broke into some small talk. But since she was pregnant and I have two sons of my own, the conversation eventually came around to her pregnancy and her excitement with having her first child. She mentioned to me how new all of the experiences w… Continue

Sarah Brown Expecting Baby #8 !

Hi, We just found out that baby #8 is on the way. So far we have one son and six daughters. I'm very happy to be able to welcome another child into our happy family. Many people wonder why we want so many kids, the answer is very simple... So many children are growing up in broken homes, with parents who don't like eachother, and in families where the parents don't have much time for the children. So I think that families that are full of love should be the most productive. We feel so blessed t… Continue

Joe Ingersoll My New Obsession

Hi, my name is Joe and I'm a Dave Ramsey fanatic. I received Dave Ramsey's book - 'The Total Money Makeover' last Christmas. After reading the book, I made a new year's resolution to write out a budget and actually stick to it beyond the 1st month of the year. The principles in the book weren't profound or rocket science by any means. In fact, they were nothing more than simple, easy-to-understand, common sense steps for eliminating debt and building wealth. Here's the step-by-step roadmap Da… Continue
