Are Your TV Advertisments Being Watched or Skipped?

Great article on Nielsen’s blog today, which I found from a Twitter follower @BrettGreene,

( http://bit.ly/awft7h ) – it talks about television usage in America. The part that hit me the most, as a family that has a TIVO and doesn't watch commercials, was

that DVR penetration in US households is skyrocketing. I’m sure in

January of 2006, it was called a “fad”by some media elitists, in July

of 2010, by looking…

WHO DO YOU HAVE ON YOUR TEAM???

As the NFL season gets into full stride….I end my football season this past weekend with a championship victory over the Battle Creek Blaze 51-14. Football is definitely an addiction of mine and I have to say that it is bitter sweet. That being said…I can’t help but look back on our season and think about what brought us so much success.…

Can Facebook Help You Save Money?

As I have been out talking about my new book, Help! My 401(k) Has Fallen - And Must Get Up!, one of the most common questions I am asked is this -

What is the one thing I can do to fix my 401(k)?

Of course, the person asking wants a simple answer, not a lot of broker speak. So here it is. Regardless of age, gender, or…

Fall Landscaping FAQs – Part 2

This week I’m covering Part 2 of questions I am regularly asked about landscape in the fall. These questions focus on protecting your lawn and plants over the winter, so you can have a happy spring when your yard wakes up from its slumber.

Do I still need to water my lawn and garden in the fall?
You would think with all the snow that will be coming soon that there is no need to water in the fall. However, cold winter temperatures…

Indianapolis fibromyalgia treatment

Previously I have gone over what fibromyalgia is and some potential warning signs and preventative behaviors. This information will focus on ways to treat fibromyalgia. Therapies that have been successful in treating the symptoms of fibromyalgia include manual therapies (chiropractic, massage, osteopathy, physical therapy), cognitive therapy, acupuncture, exercise (aerobic, tai-chi, yoga), medications, supplementations, diet, etc. For the main purpose of this article we will focus on the…

How hhgregg DID NOT Help Us Fix Our Appliance

Several months ago, late on a Sunday evening, my husband and I walked into our kitchen and found our freezer had stopped working. I immediately thought, "I do not have time for this!" As a business owner, I most certainly don't want to waste time trying to figure out how to get my freezer fixed. When Monday morning rolls around, I need to be 100%…

We Should be a Bilingual Country

Let me begin that I'm not opposed at all to English being the national language of the United States.

I'm in France right now sitting at the hotel office getting some work done (it's 3:17 PM here) and I had a wonderful conversation with the gentleman next to me on the flight over. He's got a home in Connecticut where he's raised his 3 children, but also an apartment in his native country - France.

All of his children speak English and French fluently.…

Know Your Audience

The Get Motivated! Business Seminar is coming to town. It’s a chance to hear some of the great speakers of our generation such as Zig Ziglar, Steve Forbes, and Colin Powell. While I have little interest in most of the speakers, I wouldn’t mind hearing Zig Ziglar speak. Steve Forbes would be interesting too. So as seminars go, Get Motivated may actually be worthwhile. But what has made me pay attention to the fact…

Little Bighorn Battlefield

Something about the sight of hundreds of white gravestones dotting the rolling, hilly landscape helps bring history alive. A visit to the Little Bighorn Battlefield is memorable and much more educational than reading about “Custer’s Last Stand” in a history book.

Start at the visitor center where one of several park rangers will recount the events of the weeks, days and hours leading up to this historical battle. Each have a flair for storytelling. Some paint a bloody picture of the… Continue

Politics, the Tea Party, and the American Dream

Most important to know about me is that I am a follower of Jesus. While I am still a train wreck of sin, I do love Jesus Christ and have been overwhelmed by His personal grace for me. He is both Savior and Lord of my life.

Generally speaking, I believe the Scriptures, the Spirit, and…

3 Steps for Telling Resume Achievements

3 Steps for Telling Resume Achievements

When writing a career resume, most people don’t clearly state bullet point accomplishments. When this
