We all need inspiration form time to time!

^#*@! or maybe just, Damn!

I know there have been times when I hit a roadblock in the design process. Well, sometimes, if it is a real stickler, I leave the confines of the office and immerse myself into the great outdoors! Here I try to approach the design challenge with a…

“70-20-10” – The New Rule in Marketing

Have you heard of the new rule in marketing? It’s the “70-20-10” rule, and it is what the social media world says we need to do to really make social media work for you and your business.

It’s a very quick and easy explanation.

Seventy percent of what you are sharing is helpful, pertinent referrals. It’s that great blog you read that just hit home to you; it’s that product you bought that you just cannot live without; it’s a raving review about a business that just showed you…

Fringe Review: Little Red Riding Hood

One of the darker entries in this year's IndyFringe is "Little Red Riding Hood", directed by Ryan Mullins. This play deserves credit for effort in many areas: earnest work by well-meaning actors. Plain, expository language with enough wit to keep the show moving. A premise which fits neatly with what the audience expects from fringe: a wild twist on an ancient tale.

The problem with "Little Red Riding Hood" is that each of these merits does not make up for the half-completed effort… Continue

Carmel High School presentation of Eugene Ionesco’s The Lesson at IndyFringe2011

The Carmel High School presentation of Eugene Ionesco’s The Lesson brought together a potent mix of young talent and a formidable play, written by one of the preeminent playwrights who faced head on the challenges of man in a world devoid of meaning. Make no mistake, the façade of simplicity that is common to much of the works found in the Theatre of the Absurd obscures complex acting requirements.  In this sense, the subtleties of every actor’s range come into play. For this reason, I was…

Fringe Review: Losing My Religion

Here's how I attend the annual IndyFringe festival. I walk up to a theater and buy a ticket, trying my best to not know anything about the show before the lights dim.  This way, I'm guaranteed to be surprised.

When the show began at the Frank and Baslie Theater (in the basement of the Phoenix), writer-director-star Seth Lepore launched into an enthusiastic motivational seminar. In fact, the entire play was a series of autobiographical vignettes about the murky world between…

Don’t Want to be Social? Then Don’t Incorporate Social Media into Your Marketing Plan!

No one is forcing you to go on Facebook or Twitter. Yes, your customers are most likely on there, and it is one of the easiest ways to forge relationships with them, but if you are not willing to be social or get personal, then don’t bother.

I know it sounds harsh, but I recently did a presentation for a networking group, and a small but vocal part of the audience was in disagreement with me when I talked about letting others see the more personal side of you when it comes to social…

One of the most frequent reasons given when owners relinquish cats to animal shelters or ask that a non-elderly cat be put to sleep is that the cat is “peeing all over the house.” This is a truly a case where an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of…

Goodness is in all of us

This was posted on my Facebook page by a good friend and it is worth sharing.

An old Cherokee told his grandson, "My son, there's a battle between two wolves inside us all.

One is Evil. It is anger, jealousy, greed, resentment, inferiority, lies, and ego.

The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, humility,…
