A Web Application Itself Must be Self-Defending.

Self-Defending Code

Web application security is an essential component of any successful project, whether open source PHP applications, web services such as straight through processing, or proprietary business web sites. Hosters hate insecure code, and users should run from insecure services that lead to fraud. If done from the earliest stages, secure web applications cost about the same to develop as insecure web…

Tip Tuesday: Rule of Thumb for managing contacts

One of my favorite real estate blogs is inman news. If you are in real estate and you don't read this blog, you need to. Yesterday, Bernice Ross wrote about social media tips to win real estate clients.

In the article, she says that most people can't manage more than 150 people in their contact list. So if your list has over and above that magic number, it may be hard to organize it into a meaningful list of who's who.

Now I'm not…

What is "Food With Integrity In English"?

Chipotle's Food With Integrity In English info sheet

I stopped at Chipotle for lunch today. While ordering, I noticed the "Burrito, with naturally raised chicken". I asked the gentlemen cashier what that meant. He said it means raising chickens naturally, not in cages, and "without hormones". I asked about that "without hormones" comment and he said yes, the chickens are raised without hormones. He then asked if I had seen "Food, Inc." and mentioned how, in the movie, chickens…

Networking Works - If You Work at It

We’ve all heard the cliché that just showing up is half the battle.  That may be true in many instances, but in the case of business networking, you’ve got to follow through to win the war.  I know – I built my business on this  and help others continue to follow up.

Even if you consider yourself a fast on your feet conversationalist, putting some time in before you arrive at a networking event can make a big difference in how well you are perceived by others.

Indiana's Fight over the "Right-to-Work" Bill

I will be the first to say that I'm neither a Republic or a Democrat. Both parties are childish and weak. The Democrats are childish for running, tails-between-legs, out of state to stall our legislative session because they didn't like bills the Republicans were trying to push forward. One of them, the Right-to-Work bill seems like a bill made for the people.

In my opinion, Democrats are cowards for running away. And if they got paid for holding up in a hotel for weeks,…

Gotta Go: Broadway Across America Grease

Sliding into Indy like Greased Lightning, Broadway Across America'spresentation of Grease was fast-paced version and full of song and dance. First performed in Chicago in 1971, the musical become a hit on Broadway  a year later, then a large percentage of vulgarity and rawness was deleted and turned into the blockbuster 1978 film starring … Continue

OBAMA SELLOUT

Anger! Shock! Dismay! Rage!

Pick a word in any of those categories and it is how I feel hearing Mr. Obama capped off his five day holiday in South America by announcing a sweetheart oil drilling deal for Petrobras, the Brazilian national oil company.

American tax dollars - two-billion of those hard earned dollars - will be loaned to Petrobras by the American Import-Export Bank to help finance a floating oil drilling and storage rig in the Gulf of Mexico. Our federal Environmental… Continue

Web Application Security - Cross Site Scripting

Never Underestimate Cross Site Scripting (XSS)

As you might expect, we spend a lot of time at 403.WDDinc evaluating Web sites for security flaws. Even after all of this time we never stop being amazed at what we find. The most striking observation is the high percentage of Web sites (70%) that contain severe vulnerability flaws; these are the kind of flaws that have the potential of…

When it comes to the arts, do YOU "get it"?

What is art if it doesn't include people? I am not asking, what is art without people as the subject? I am merely asking what is art if it somehow does not have the human element participating in it?

If there is too much human element in art, is it less "arty"? If art has barely any human element in it is it more "arty"?

For example, individuals who create art for the masses, are they lesser artists because of the…
