I had a wonderful time last night. Thank you for your kind invitation and for making me
feel so welcome. I enjoyed seeing your husband again and your friends. The art work
was beautiful as was the community spirit.

I couldn't help but overhear you speaking about a priceless quilt that traced a friend's
family back to slavery. Since my family did not come to this country till several
generations ago, we have no family stories of events during that period. The closest
we come are family stories about German Princes who conscripted our ancestors into
road building, bridge building and armed service - on the threat of losing one's head.

We all have such a wealth of human experience to share.
