I would recommend that you take a look at Indiana Wesleyan's LEAP program. It is targeted towards adult learners, held all over the city and you work through the program with a group so you know the people you are going to school with. I had sever...

Steve,
Are you a part of any biking association in Indiana? The Autism Society of Indiana (I'm the ED) is putting on a ride in April for Autism Awareness Month called Wheels for Wings...Soaring over the Autism Spectrum.
I'm looking for help connecting with people and groups that ride to help with funding and participating...thoughts?

Hi Steve,

Amy Stark said to look you and Jan up, because I created an Autism in Indiana group here. It's new, so far just two of us, but I'd love to get more participation and members.

Hey Steve,
I am trying not to let my feelings be hurt that you haven't accepted me as a friend on smaller indiana. : ( Jan and I are friends!

Sean Shepherd just invited me to be a friend, and I ONLY accepted because you were on his friend's list, I told him that, too. Is he for the Fair Tax?

Next time you have a hankering for Chinese food, give me a call. My schedule is fairly open, sorry to say. I'm still unemployed, but highly educated.

I hope all is well, and I hope to see you and your family, et al. at Kaiti's graduation party, I would love to meet your parents and congratulate them on a job well-done!

It's in the eye of the beholder

Recently, I had the opportunity to work with a new sales rep orientation class at our headquarters in Dallas. At this class, they work on selling skills, understanding internal processes and product knowledge. Yesterday while my wife and I were having lunch, she asked me if I was bored all week. My first reaction was no, not really.

When we got home, the sun was shining, the roads had dried up and it was about 40 degrees so I decided to sneak for a quick bike ride. In Central Indiana, you get i… Continue

One on One Learning

Last year I became a big believer in using Podcasts to learn. To the point that now, I rarely listen to the radio when I'm in the car and since I travel by air regularly, I am never without my trusty iPod.

Here are some Podcasts that are available on iTunes that I highly recommend:

For the outdoors:
The FredCast Cycling Podcast - The latest news, views and product reviews in cycling
Phedippidations - A goofy little running podcast
Outside Online Podcast - From the publishers of Outside Magazin… Continue

Listening

The other day I had the opportunity to work with one of my Account Executives in room together all afternoon. While working with my teammates is nothing new, it is unusual for us to not meet with customers or coworkers for 5 hours. I was reminded that, just like in the woods, you can hear more when there isn't a lot of noise going on around you. We had the opportunity to not only strategize on her accounts, but also for me to really hear her.

We need to take time each day and really listen quie… Continue

Outdoor Sales Manager

I am a Sales Manager for a major international company. In addition to being a sales leader, I enjoy the outdoors and try and incorporate my work travels with activities in the outdoors.

The goal of this blog is for me to share not only my travels but to also share my learnings about work and the wild.

I hope that you will enjoy my travels and trevails.
