The Sale is Complete - Now the Relationship Begins

You place the item in the bag, give your customer their change, smile and say thank you. Or you receive your purchase through your grocery cart on your web page. You click on the item processed button and click to close the screen. Either way, the sale is complete. Done. Finished. Over.

Too many people think of a sale this way. In today’s competitive market, this is the biggest mistake a business owner or sales professional can make. Once that customer walks out the door, you have a choice. To… Continue

Ask the Experts - Your Customers!

Every business owner knows that the customer is the expert. If you have a storefront, ask people while they’re in the store if they’re finding what they need. Ask if there is something they’d like you to carry that you don’t have. Ask if they have been treated properly.

If you are a service provider, send a survey and ask for feedback on the service they received. Ask if there is more you could have done, something you should not have done, etc.

Ask. Ask. Ask. Then, ACT. If 9 out of every 10 c… Continue

What Would I Miss

Last night at the Rainmakers Main Event, Lorraine Ball of Roundpeg spoke about our local economic eco-system. She asked each of us to list three businesses we would miss if they were to close up, and it really started making me think what part I can play to make sure this doesn’t happen to the three I listed. First thing I can do is to make sure everyone within my circle or “tribe” knew how much I appreciated my three – and even though I thin… Continue

Staying in Touch with Your One-Time Customers

It’s easy to keep a relationship going with customers when you have a product or service that creates repeat purchases. But what about when your business is mostly a one-time sale per customer? There are two questions to answer: Why continue that relationship, and how?

Why you should keep that relationship going is, in one word, referrals. If you gave your customer a great experience, they will refer family, friends, neighbors and even people they don’t know (have you listened to grocery-store… Continue

Y'all Come Back Now, You Hear?

When you own or manage a business that provides repeat business opportunities, it’s important to stay in touch with your customers. It’s not a difficult thing to do, but often something small business owners and managers don’t think about – or feel they don’t have time for.

There are many quick, easy ways to stay top of mind. Just “being there when they need something” isn’t enough. Why? Because there are many other companies up and down the street who offer the same product or service – and th… Continue

Hi Serina,

I saw that you were on the Business Roundtable Network (BRN) discussion in Smaller Indiana. We have our biggest event in our short history (Jan. 2009 until now) coming up next week. If ever there was a time to get involved with BRN now would be the time. We provide the support and exchange of expertise needed in this economy. We need a core of people (50) who are truly committed to helping each other get through this economy and thrive.

It would be great to have you as a part of that.

Hope to see you next Thursday. See details below.

Thursday, April 30th

4:30 pm to 6:30 pm

At Conquest Racing Headquarters

Get additional information and register in advance by going to our website: www.brncommunity.com

We need you to register because food is being provided by oyster bar and grill – excellent!

We need numbers so we get the right amount of food!

So register now for this FREE event.

I hope to see you there.

Yes, we had a booth. Yes, you were very emotional. But, it's no big deal. It was an awesome award and something to be very proud about. It means that you are on the right track. I will be at tomorrows event. I would enjoy talking to you after the lunch. See you then!!!! When is this snow going to melt? Uggghhhhh!!!

I just saw you left a comment. I'm still getting familiar with this Smaller Indiana website. I plan on attending the Rainmaker event tomorrow. However, there is a slight possibility that I might not be there. If I can I would definately like to meet you after the Rainmakers event. Now I look at your picture more, didn't you win an award at the Rainmaker's event at Ritz Charles?

Sounds interesting. I agree it seems that we are targeting the same customers. Payroll is definately one of those tasks that should be outsourced so the business owener can concentrate on growing their business. In addition, companies can be fined at the end of the year if they don't they don't process payroll correctly. When this service is outsourced that liability becomes apart of our responsibility. Maybe we could get together soon for lunch or coffee and talk about possible referrals between our two companies.

Likewise!!! Thanks for the friend request. Timeplus Payroll is the fourth largest payroll provider in the United States and I'm currently working on growing the Indianapolis, IN service Center. My best referells are CPA, bookeepers, & commercial bankers. In addition, any business that has 1-250 employees is a potential customer. Tell me a little bit about your business and what you offer.
