Prepping for Pecha Kucha: List of Irritating Phrases

We've all heard them. We've played buzz word bingo at the office. We've used them in presentations and emails. And marketing materials. And conversations. And today, thanks Oxford (maker of all things excellent when it comes to language) for pointing out what's driving everyone nuts by naming the top 10 most irritating phrases on *both* sides of the pond. I've been wor… Continue

Feed Me/Drink Me Week in Review: Euphoria, Alice Waters, Winter Markets

It's that time of year with lots happening in the Indianpaolis food and wine world.

**Don't forget about tickets if you want to see Alice Waters at the IMA on December 2. She'll talk about her Edible Schoolyard project and stick around after to sign books.

**Euphoria, the new restaurant at the top of Bugg's Temple helmed by Chef Brad Gates soft-launched this week. New new menu and wine list is fanta… Continue

Feed Me/Drink Me Week in Review: Euphoria, D'Vine Moves, and the Indy Cigar Bar

Is it possible grocery prices are falling as gas prices come down? Certainly at the high end. Things are looking better if you like to eat fresh, local, and better quality. In the meantime, don't forget to order your fresh, farm-raised, natural turkeys for Thanksgiving from your favorite local meat market. More dining news in Indy? Euphoria, the new restaurant in the former Tavern-at-the-Temple space, will soft-l… Continue

Feed Me/Drink Me Week in Review:

The fall restaurant season is heating up openings (Siam Square), closing (Puck's halts dinner service), and at least one re-launch (look for information on Friday.) Plus, enough dinners, tastings, and fundraisers to keep any social butterfly in shape. If you're like most of us, you pick and choose, so I try to post about the best -- and most tasty -- options. Here are some highlights with more at Feed Me/Drink Me!

Celebrating Banned Books Week -- Read a Banned Book

We just missed Banned Books Week -- it ended over the weekend, but it's not too late to show your support for the American Library Association and authors across the US by reading a banned book! Below is a list of the top 100 most frequently challenged or banned books for 1990-2000 according to the ALA. The instructions are easy: bold the ones you’ve read and pass it on. Think… Continue

Hey lady! Seems like it might be time to get together and plan a nice little strategy for our Second Helpings gathering. Sometime soon-ish work for you?

Lots good happening - except that economy thing. Speaking and traveling, selling services. Health is fine, car is running well, family is great, etc. Cooking lots - just got a great cookbook from Charleston and I;m working through it till I run out of Lipitor.

Doing a lot of photography - thought you would enjoy this. I call it Chicken Dinner.

Personal search - for a rum drink that WORKS and a short story by Roald Dahl that I haven't read yet...both in one evening would be just peachy. Spent the day puttering alone in the house and loving the ennui. Kind of reset everything. Was just thinking of Renee and her blog appears....wow.

I have been to Wasilla. Live, it's like a frozen Crawfordsville....http://www.wasillachamber.org/webcams/BestWestern_frameset.html
