Raise the Woof” will be held on November 3rd in the Ballroom of the Crowne Plaza Indianapolis Airport Hotel. The event will begin at 7pm. The phone has been ringing off the hook at Misty Eyes Animal Shelter & Learning Center! Some of the calls are from wonderful people wanting to help but many are for dogs and cats in need.While we raise funds to build our facility all of our animals are in foster care. Misty Eyes Animal Rescue & Learning Center is hosting their biggest event of the year! This event will begin with a 5k Run followed by a day of festivities. We are currently seeking vendors for our event. Commercial booth space is $50 and not for profit space is $30. Tonight I thought of Misty Eyes Dog Shelter & Learning Center, and I smiled.

Cherie Fox and I are the co-founders of Misty Eyes Dog Shelter & Humane Education Learning Center. We are a start-up organziation located in Hendricks County. Cherie and I met in 2008 when we were both volunteers for the same rescue organization, over the past three years we often found ourselves working towards the same goals in a variety of capacities. The story behind Misty Eyes....

Four and a half years ago I was offered a promotion that would require me to move to Indiana, being that I was in the hospitality industry I was given the luxury of living on property for a few months until a permanent place was found. I explained I wouldn't be able to accept this amazing offer if my dog Misty could not live in the hotel with me. Thankfully my company agreed that she could stay in the hotel, I happily accepted the offer and off to Indy we drove.
