Paul...thanks for the ad. I am looking forward to your band playing at the upcoming Chocolate Blues. I'll be sure to add your band's name to all of my postings so we can let the community know you'll be there.

I figured out how to make it play automatically when you open my profile, but the loop function works only when you have multiple songs. The 30 seconds is enough to make me smile whenever I open my profile, though. Music can be very powerful. Thanks again for letting me use it. I promise to direct people to your profile when they ask me about it. :)

Hey Paul-- I was able to grab Loverman off your SI profile, but I haven't figured out how to make it begin automatically or to loop. It is only 30 seconds long, but it cuts off at a point so that if I had it on a loop, it would sound great. Any suggestions?

Thanks for allowing me to put it on my profile.

Hey Paul,

How much would charge to allow me to play your rendition of Loverman on my SI profile? It is a personal favorite, and has been since Linda Ronstandt's Lush Life Album a million years ago.

It was a pleasure meeting you yesterday, and if it's ok with you, I would like to add you as a friend.

Paul,
It was good to hear your perspective on trust and relationships today at the book club meeting. It's a topic I'm very interested in. Perhaps we could talk further about it at another time?
It was great to meet you.

Hey, Paul! I am very interested in Cocktail Sax. I see from the website that you have a lot of bookings for 2008, congrats on that. I want to find out if I can sing with the group some time, and see whether we're a good fit. Let's talk...

re: Buying a Mac. Apple tightly controls the pricing in their channel so most brick and mortar stores (and online outlets for that matter) will have prices very similar to Apple's own website or retail stores. You may be able to catch a deal online where the company bundles in a printer or other accessory for free with purchase.

So, if price is your main concern, there's not a clear cut advantage to not buying directly from Apple. In Indy, Fry's is the only "big box" authorized retailer left since CompUSA went belly up. There's an independent retailer called "The Mac Experience" but their closest location is on the east side (Washington/465).

All said, if you're going to purchase new I would buy directly from Apple's site or from their Keystone location. Check out the Apple.com store for "refurbed" units which will have the same warranty as new machines but may save you a couple of hundred dollars.

Smaller Indiana at Work

I attended the Smaller Indiana hits 1000 party at the Rat tonight and wow what a great event. What was cool was that everyone was there to meet other people and learn about them and all see how we can help each other. I found that I had valuable contacts and information that will help several people and I also found several people that know people who will help my jazz band.

Events like this where you can go and meet new people really continue to surpris… Continue

New audio and video posted on web site www.cocktailsax.com

I have received numerous requests to have audio samples and video of the band on the web site. Wow, what a project. While this seems like an easy request, getting quality audio and video posted, going thru appropriate licensing requirements, and looking for web players can be a significant project.

I have now posted new audio files from the band on the web site, but without a player. I have found issues with different hosting provider tools related to what players will work and integrate... it… Continue

Just back from Disney .. again

I have just returned from yet another trip to Disneyworld. My family makes an annual pilgrimage to pay our annual Disney tax and see the life sucked out of my wallet, yet we keep coming back for more. I am constantly amazed at the incredible infrastructure of people, organization, strategy, technology, and culture imbedded into the Disney environment. Everytime I go I see "constant change and improvement", I see new advanced technology deployed, and I see continued focus on the

25 years in corporate America, now an Entrepreneur

Wow, a long time climbing the corporate ladder...but I did get the payoff. I now have some financial freedom from years of hard work to now start my own business... but wait... a music industry business? What am I thinking, musicians and venues are flakier than corporate america.

The difference is in the "fun" factor. I can chose how to do this with keeping my values and fun, and not have to sign up for the hassle and friction that comes with being enslaved to a job. There is still ple
