TILTS: Online airline reservation changes

can't remember the last time I booked a plane ticket by talking to an agent on the phone. I've been booking my tickets online since the days when Preview Travel was the only [online] game in town.

But somewhere along the line in the conversion to booking reservations online, something was missed. And that is the ability to change your reservations online. This is today's Technology I'd Like to See.

Based on experience
I experienced this yesterday when I was flying back home to Indianapo… Continue

Sometimes it pays to call when your gadgets stop working

am a big fan of the Logitech Harmony One remote. It is the one remote control I can truly call "babysitter proof". Or to relate more to my audience, "noobie proof".

A few weeks ago my Harmony One remote started acting up. Buttons would work, then they wouldn't. Then they would. This went on for a few day until pressing one button would "stick" and cause the button to repeat its behavior over and over and over again.

Finally, the remote completely died. Being a techie, I went through my usual a… Continue

An open letter to the people in front of me at the movie theater

To: The 3 people sitting in front of me at the movie theater

Hello, my name is Patric Welch. I was sitting directly behind you at the movie theater today. You probably wouldn't recognize me or even realize that I sat behind you because you were texting and updating Facebook on your phones for the entire duration of the movie.

I'm happy you sat directly in front of me, even though the theater had about 250 open seats and I arrived about 15 minutes before you. Because if you hadn't sat in… Continue

Tuesday Twitter Roundup 12-15-09

Here is this week's roundup of Twitter highlights posted from my Twitter account

  • At the Colts game with my dad. Whoo-ah!

  • After 2 warnings today the referee threw the opposing team's coach out of my son's basketball game. Umm that would be the first graders.

HI Patric,

I saw that you were on the Business Roundtable Network (BRN) discussion in Smaller Indiana. We have our biggest event in our short history (Jan. 2009 until now) coming up next week. If ever there was a time to get involved with BRN now would be the time. We provide the support and exchange of expertise needed in this economy. We need a core of people (50) who are truly committed to helping each other get through this economy and thrive.

It would be great to have you as a part of that.

Hope to see you next Thursday. See details below.

Thursday, April 30th

4:30 pm to 6:30 pm

At Conquest Racing Headquarters

Get additional information and register in advance by going to our website: www.brncommunity.com

We need you to register because food is being provided by oyster bar and grill – excellent!

We need numbers so we get the right amount of food!

So register now for this FREE event.

I hope to see you there.

Oh, Kyle started a string (?) that asked everybody to post seven things about you on your own message board or blog. I put mine in the wrong place and have not taken the time to move it.

Patric, lets pick a time this week to meet at a SB (135/ Stonegate) and I will get you on my video blog. Basically, you on camera and me asking you questions about yourself, your company, SI.com, current issues or another topic. All from you perspective!
