Bread for Hungry Surfers

Churches love food and relish any opportunity they can to prepare it. However, ask a church to cook up fresh content for the internet and you’ll likely not get the same enthusiasm. It is not because they are confused by the internet, have no time for it or have nothing to say. It is often [...]

Building Digital Campfires

I love camping with friends.  And I mean real camping.  The kind where there is no electricity, running water comes out of a community spicket, and the bathroom is an outhouse.  That’s the kind of camping I enjoy. Of course, one of the mainstays to camping is the campfire.  We warm ourselves by it, cook on [...]

Instead of Using Publisher. Use a Freelance Designer.

I was reading a post over at ChurchMarketingSucks about tips to using a graphic designer and I wanted to add a couple of tips to hiring a graphic designer. Why is this important? You reflect your professionalism as an organization by the material that is handled and used for communication.  1. Ask For A Referral. It [...]

Tweet, Tweet, Amen.

Recently on SmallerIndiana a firestorm of comments and dialogue was exchanged over a simple little question, “Will tweeting in Church help or hurt the spiritual experience?” Since most twittering takes place on mobile devices, it reminded me at how new this kind of activity is in our culture (particularly in places like church). For the [...]

Baby Boomer Me Up. The 43+ Revolution.

How many times have we heard the negative remarks surrounding social media marketing sound something like this: “I don’t feel like I need to invest our time and resources into social media. I don’t think our Baby Boomer demographic will relate to that type of technology.” At Brandswag we hear this all the time. It is [...]

I know...I'm a mess.

I'm a mess inside. And I don't mean that in a little way. I mean that in a really big way.

Recently I've created a 12 Subject Photoshop course for Photographers, and thought it would be something of interest to you. The course is 3 hours, 1 on 1, and you receive a handbook to go along with the course. Customizing the course by Subject is also possible. This is a great course that will benefit your photography forever. Course details can be seen on my site www.newmanphoto.net under Classes. Let me know if interested and I hope to speak soon.

Are you in Indianapolis?
If you are we need to get a cup of coffee. It looks like we could probably collaborate on some things.

It's basically a way to network with other people who live and work in Indiana. I like to describe it as a party with small groups of people talking together. You get to listen in on all the conversations and make comments in each conversation. You also get to post blogs about any issue you feel like. I cross-post my work and personal blogs here, and I also write blog entries just for Smaller Indiana.

For example, if you look at the main page, you'll see the piece I wrote for Dave being this week's Smoosier of the Week.

Come to the 2000th member celebration tomorrow if you can too.

1. We want to know the real you...Please use your real name (first and last) when you sign up, or we cannot open your account

2. We want to know the real you...Please do NOT use your Smaller Indiana blog for blatant self promotion

3. We want to see your smiling face...Please do not use logos or commercial images for your profile photo

5. Please do NOT post commercial video (demo reels), or Corporate Website promotions in your blog

6. You can post pretty much anything you want on your own personal page (self promotion, etc), and you can change the style of your personal profile page to reflect your corporate identification if you so choose.

7. Please keep all comments civil and polite. It's OK to feel strongly about a subject, and it's OK to be critical of ideas, but please refrain from personal attacks of any kind.
