Welcome aboard and interesting choice for your first group. My belly tends to dance unintentionally, which is to say I need to shed a few lbs. Since choreography is an interest of yours, you would bring a unique perspective to any group you join....

YOU WON'T KNOW, IF YOU DON'T GO . . . to the Smaller Indiana Bigger Ideas Conference

Did you Know Jebediah Coyle, Pat Coyle's great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather put together something very similar to the Smaller Indiana Bigger Ideas Conference back in the 1760s?

That's right! It was called the "Smaller Colonies, Grandiose Ideas Perfunctionary." Now, Imagine if Benjamin Franklin, who discovered electricity and invented bifocals, had met Thomas Edision, who invented the light bulb? Society would have been "enlightened" much sooner and we may have even had… Continue

If you make a Provocative Statement - be prepared to back it up.

Local web marketing and "connections company" Media Sauce is a true gem. We are lucky to have innovate firms like them, along with Exact Target, Firebelly, RoudPeg, Brandswag and others who frequent SI and are at the vanguard of the social media revolution.

But just because you have successful visionaries plugged into the same surge suppressor doesn't mean your statements are correct. A friend of mine says "everyone has a right to be wrong," while this may be true, we also have the right to say… Continue

Top 10 Reasons I am going to the Bigger Ideas Conference

1. I hope to hear what the speakers have to say and hopefully apply what they share to my personal and professional life.
2. I hope to meet the speakers and especially those who have already committed to attending.
3. I expect to be inspired creatively and spiritually - It's been a brutal Q1 2009.
4. I might bounce some ideas off of certain people if the situation arises.
5. I plan on poking the people I persuaded in attending in the ribs and saying: "see I told you Pat wasn't crazy," and/or "I… Continue

A Light and Fluffy Controversy is Swirling in Indy

What is this Economy coming to?
I should have seen the signs when the shades were drawn for the last time at Bed Bath and Beyond.
Then the lights blinked for a final time at Circuit City.
So now I'm hypersensitive . . . I'm looking for troubling trends at my favorite retail establishments so I can be the first to sound the alarm.
I discovered one this morning that is very serious . . . the Shamrock Shakes have disappeared from the menus at area McDonalds. Now before all you Marketers in SI land… Continue

Hoosier Burger Quest - longing for an awesome burger on a Lenten Friday

Back in January I joined up with the Hoosier Burger Quest group here on Smaller Indiana. The group's purpose is simple: to try the best burgers in Central Indiana. Many of the locations are off the beaten path, but well known to burger aficionados and longtime Indy residents. The group's unofficial official leader is intrepid burger lover Dick Davis.

This is a clip from our meal at the Canary Cafe, the video is a little shaky because I was experimenting with a new mini-HD camcorder. I may not ha… Continue

Hello, I am new to Smaller Indiana and thought I would reach out to connect and say hello. My name is Brandon and I am the Director for Musical Medicine. We build music libraries for hospitals.

Are you planning on attending the Chocolate Blues and Business Networking Festival next Thursday? I hear it's going to be huge, they expect about 1,500 people to attend. It should be a great networking day! I have free tickets, if you need a ticket, let me know and I'll email you one. If you want more details about it, it's listed under events on the 26th.

Have a good day and I look forward to networking with you. Please let me know if I can ever do anything for you,
Brandon

A few things to consider before joining Smaller Indiana:

1. We want to know the real you...Please use your real name (first and last) when you sign up, or we cannot open your account

5. Please do NOT post commercial video (demo reels), or Corporate Website promotions in your blog
