I am taking the Fall semeter off from at Ivy Tech Community College in the Indianapolis area so I can retool the teaching lesson plans of the basic for-credit English composition class. We have new text books. I am also working a full-time schedule at Indiana mentor as a Direct Service Professional (DSP) as a group home for mentally and physically disabled in Caramel Indiana.
I started the new job in May after being offered one class for the summer. I needed the money and ended up with a new phase of my life with paid training, insurance benefits and the whole thing.
I have participated in the CaptureIndy photo contest, am continuing to have photos on display at an area coffehouse, have completed a permanent exhiibit of photos in room 503 of the main Ivy Tech building downtown with 10 pictures on display in the faculty-student resources room, and recently became a member of the Deviant Art online community at michaelhall4182.deviantart.com, where my photos and artwork are for sale.
My wife, Patty, and I celebrated 16 years of marriage in July with a weekend trip to Spencer County to see all things Abraham Lincoln, and took hundreds of photographs. Some of those photos will be featured in the Pioneer Portfolio series of my poetry web blog, the World of Words by Elias Tobias (www.eliastobias.net). The blog has incrased daily unique visitors to 1.6 million in July, up from 1.3 million in June amd 1.2 in May. The daily page views reflect a double daily number of unique visitors. I have finished a video called "Save tre Trees" and it is on the this Smaller Indiana page.
Launched as part of the World of Words blog, an essay titled "Word Power: 10 ways to make your words have meaning and impact," was published and sent to various web sites for comment including Smaller Indiana and Make Literature.com and of course, The World of Words by Elias Tobias.
