Matt has 24 years of experience in IT, consulting, business and public service. Matt is Director of Research Relations for Purdue University, serving as an ambassador in building awareness of Purdue research capabilities and engagement activities across the state, nation and globally while also growing collaborative research that solves the most pressing challenges of our day. Matt is also a management consultant. In this capacity he is assisting a European software company as it launches its business in North America and helping a high tech start-up as it selects a site to begin operations.
Matt McKillip served as CEO of CMS-Katra and Executive Director of Katra Healthcare USA; subsidiaries of the Indian multinational, the Katra Group. In this capacity, Matt developed Katra’s non-clinic nutraceutical and OTC organization, brands, distribution and channels in the USA, started the USA business for Katrasoft and led CMS-Katra.
Matt served the people of Indiana as mayor of Kokomo. Matt was recognized by The US Conference of Mayor’s, the National League of Cities and the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns for his efforts and received an award for Mayoral Leadership. Matt was one of a select group to participate in the George Washington University fellowship on “Governing in the Global Age.”
Matt has also been a successful IT entrepreneur. He started and sold two consulting firms, one in Europe and the other in the USA. Before government and his entrepreneurial efforts, Matt worked with the world’s leading consumer products company, Procter & Gamble, for 10 years in the USA and Europe. Matt was part of the leadership team that started P&G’s Portugal subsidiary.
Matt graduated with highest distinction from Purdue University and was later honored by Purdue as a 2005 Distinguished Alumnus. Matt is married to Heather and has one daughter, Sara.
