An Introduction

Hello, all. I just found and joined smallerindiana a couple days ago. I also found and joined the writers group as this is where my interest lies.

Why join? I joined because I am hoping to develop a network of local contacts interested in writing (especially fiction). I belong to an online writing and critting group, but have also participated in a small, local writer's group and found that having face to face time with others helped keep me motivated. I have a more than full time job and 3 tee… Continue

Evenings are problematic for me. Sundays are never possible. Mornings and noons are OK for the most part. Don't worry about me though. You all do what works for you. I may have to sit on the sidelines or watch from here.

I will check to see if Sunday works for me to be sure. Let me know what time you are thinking when things are firm and I'll let you know for sure. I am certainly interested and need the discipline. Thanks.

The B&N in Greenwood has a great coffee shop. To be honest, I have no idea how often writers groups meet. Every other Sunday sounds do-able to me, but if more or less time between meetings is more appropriate, I'm pretty flexible.

The other person I was thinking of is Lise Hoffman. I met her at the Midwest Writers Workshop and have her as a facebook friend. I left her a post on facebook asking if she was still interested.

Where and when are you thinking of meeting? Sunday and Monday evenings work best for me, but i could probably figure out other days as well. I know that the Greenwood Library has some meeting rooms that we could schedule times to use, but they are also changing their hours.

I write mainly urban fantasy and some fictional short leaning toward horror. I'm pretty new to writing, starting seriously just this last January. I've had a couple articles in some local papers, all having to do with family issues, but have recently finished an urban fantasy novel. Sci-fi and fantasy are where my interests lie:) I'll keep you posted on whether I hear from anyone else!

Hey Matt! I was really excited to get your note and would love to start a writer's group in the Greenwood area. I heard from another writer that I met at a workshop that she would be really interested in joining as well. She lives in Franklin Township and, if I remember correctly, writes more inspirational essay than fiction, but still would be interested in working with other writers. You are the first reply to my comment that I've received so if you have heard from others please let me know!
