What is your greatest strength?
The ability to quickly build a rapport and develop relationships ---being a great team member and mentor. Having the desire to help move a company forward---not doing the "same old thing" and really looking at the issues and making change happen. Strategy!
What are you working on?
I am a progressive HR professional looking for a new opportunity working with a team that is forward thinking and strategic, in a fast paced, professional environment that likes to have fun!

I am interested in a customer facing position where I can work with clients to analyze their problems and collaborate to develop a solution. I enjoy helping others find a better way to conduct their business. I like taking risks and researching new ways to do things. I have strong technical skills and am very comfortable with new technology.

With my skills, I am interested in a role in HR Consulting, helping companies streamline their recruiting function and develop their employer brand, specifically with social media. I also have a strong background in Compensation, helping companies develop a competitive total compensation program to attract and retain top talent. I could also see myself in an Account Management role for a software or consulting company. I believe my HR skills are transferable to a role where I can contribute to a client's success.

I am flexible for the right opportunity with the right company.

Develop your Elevator Pitch

Recently I was made aware of a great free site offered by the Harvard Business School which helps you develop your elevator pitch: www.alumni.hbs.edu/careers/pitch

Everyone needs an elevator pitch, whether you are looking for a new job, starting a business, applying for college or in an existing role where you need to promote yourself or your brand.
This site guides you through developing your pitch with 4 rules:

OTBN--what a great excuse for a party

This past weekend I was made aware of this "event" that is sweeping the country, but I haven't seen it mentioned in the Indy area---so I wanted to share it with all of you at SI.....a great excuse for enjoying some good wine with friends!

Open That Bottle Night (OTBN) was started in 2000 by two WSJ writers looking for an excuse to get friends together in the dead of winter and enjoy some wine. They invited a few friends over and told each of them to bring "that bottle of wine you have been savi… Continue

MT, I don't wish to make incorrect inferences, but the way I read your profile it does not reference anything to do with working for Laina. Is it accurate to conclude that gig is over?

Great to hear from you MT!

I'm doing well!Keeping busy!

How about you?! Any luck with the search? Please let me know if there is anything I can do.

Enjoying the snow we've had over the past two days? I got stuck a few times... on my own street!!!! (I thought I'd be cool and show up at work on a snow day - not a good idea with more than a foot of snow on the road and driving a sedan).

I hope you stay safe and you keep in touch!!!

MT----Business has been good for me. I just hope it continues. I have been doing more small commercial jobs since residential projects have slowed down.

I hate all this negative press that seems to be pulling down the economy even more because people are scared. Let's all get back to our optimistic ways and get this economy moving again.

If I hear of any PR openings I will contact you. I also have a friend that is looking for an office manager position for a medical office. If you hear of anything in your pursuit let me know so I can tell her.

Hope to see you at one of the upcoming events.

Linda
