Asleep. But my husband came in and said "I'm sorry to wake you up but the Colts won with an amazing finish in the last four minutes..." He kept talking, but that's all I remember.

I rarely go to movies that are sad, violent, or frightening. Forrest Gump bored me to tears and I never saw Titanic because it was played up so much that I was sure it’d be a let-down (and that horrible… Continue

Week 31 – Rain at IU Auditorium, Bloomington

We’ve had tickets for months to see Rain at IU Auditorium in Bloomington. My parents went to see Rain at Clowes in the spring and decided Adam and I HAD to go see them on their next stop in Indiana. It was such a great coincidence that I won tickets to see… Continue

One Art Event a Week: Sasquatch Lecture and Exhibit

Week 29: Sasquatch Lecture at Central Library and Coinciding Exhibit at Big Car/iMOCA

Sasquatch. Bigfoot. Yeti. Harry (from Harry and the Hendersons). Whatever you choose to call them, Sasquatch are an interesting phenomenon in America. Do they exist? Or are they just an ongoing prank played by the wise guys of our species? Dr. Jeffrey Meldrum, professor of anthropology from Idaho State University, attempted to answer some of these questions last week at Central Library.

I walked into t… Continue

Laura - Thanks for making it to the inaugural lunch get together of the Indophiles Group, it was great meeting you and Adam. Hopefully we can do more things like this in the future.

Larua, (It's Sarah Richcreek on my friend/partner, Karli's log on.)

You are the best, I tell ya! I will have to do this recipe because not only is it gluten free, but casein free as well. Woo hoo! Your vegan oatmeal cookies are a big hit. I will definitely give this recipe a try. Thanks for looking out for us! I would love to meet you in person sometime. Things keep getting busier and crazier. I can't ever go to First Fridays anymore - boo hiss. (Got a third job.) You can meet Karli this weekend. She will be manning our cookie booth at the Binford Farmers Market (62nd and Binford) from 8 to noon this Saturday - every Saturday. Our cookies are also at Good Earth in Broadripple, but I don't think that they have any of our vegan cookies there. If we don't get rained out, we'll be at the 38th and Meridian Farmers Market on Thursday from 4-6:30. Still trying to find time to get another vegan variety made. Hope to see/talk to you soon.

Thanks again!
-Sarah

Hi, Laura — I enjoyed reading your First Friday blog! After I left the Art Bank that night, I headed to the Athenaeum sale. Not surprisingly, most of the items were picked over, but I did manage to score a $5 basketball hoop. :-)

Thanks for letting me add you to our mailing list! The farmer's market went pretty well. We can't complain; it was our first market ever. We hope to do better this Saturday when we're at Joe's Butcher shop in Carmel. What program you have in mind for us? You can shoot me an email: sarah@thehotcookie.com or give me a call: 765-749-3285 anytime. :)

I'm sorry I missed you this evening. I hope you and all of the other SI Art Walk attendees had fun. I was baking up a storm and not finishing on time. I hope to catch up with you all next month.

Thanks for the words of encouragement and the article!
I think we should definitely pick a meeting place and time. I am not sure where to start, so I'll leave that up to you or Eric. Should be a very fun evening. I'm looking forward to it!

Laura, Indiana is not so big. We started our roastery 11 months ago in Marion. Visit our site, midwestorganiccoffee.comWe are having a lot of fun. Just got back from a meeting with city officials. We are going to have a coffee tasting for the downtown area. They are going to promote it. We are very excited. You are the first to hear. Are you and your parents coffee drinkers? Maybe you can get it into you schedule to come taste the coffee. Nothing like a cup of fresh roasted Kenya Ichamara AA.Smoooooooth!

Hey! Eric Deckers and I were talking today about the next First Friday Art walk thingy. We were thinking about gathering a small group of SI people. Are you down?

Oh, thank you so much! I'm trying to sell those pendants so I can buy the materials to make more! I see that you have a personal connection to the arts. I'm trying to get into the Indy Arts scene here. I miss my former art community back in Muncie. :(
