Just to share a bit with you about a word I have noticed going by. From all I have heard, the Carmel Arts and Design District has really been struggling to attract attention. I was there a few weeks ago filming a music video in Evan Lurie's Gallery, and spoke with a few people about ads for my magazine. The feedback I got when questioning folks is that business (Studios, galleries...) are really struggling, and several have come and gone. I am simply warning you to be weary of your investment there.
Personally, I love that area, and hope to see it succeed in the near future. I was considering investing in a studio there myself, but failed to meet the financial goal.
Good luck with everything you strive for.
