The Visit Indiana Blog

Midwest Living Magazine features Richmond/Wayne County!

In the newest issue of Midwest Living Magazine, August 2009, Richmond/Wayne County is featured in their article “Antiquing with Attitude“.  Midwest Living editors Carol Schalla, Barbara Morrow and Joan Luckett recently visited the area spurring them to include a wonderful 7-1/2 page article on antiquing.  The article tells of the three and their quest to [...]

Gary Air Show This Weekend

There’s an exciting event for all ages this weekend up in Gary, Indiana. The annual Gary Air Show is this weekend and the lineup looks to be as exciting as previous years. The show is usually pretty incredible as various advanced jets and historic planes do flying routines over beautiful Lake Michigan. Planes on display over [...]

Learning Center to mark 40th anniversary of moon landing

Where were you 40 years ago July 20? Well, I was just a twinkle in my parents’ eye, but I’m sure that my parents were watching with great interest the news about Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin’s landing on the moon.  This July 20, however, I will be taking part in the celebration marking the event [...]

Small-town 4th celebration offers big fun

I’ve always thought it would be fun to celebrate the 4th of July in a small town. This might be the year that we do just that, heading northeast of Indianapolis to Delphi, Indiana for the Canal Days celebration. The festivities will begin Saturday morning will begin with the traditional Rotary Pancake Breakfast from 6:30 — [...]

Looking for something a little different — and affordable — to do this 4th of July weekend? The Indiana Fever, Indiana’s WNBA team, have just the ticket. The $4 ticket, that is. Head to Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Thursday, July 2 when the Fever take on the Connecticut Sun at 7pm and score $14 seats [...]

Exploring Elkhart County: The New York Central Railroad Museum

Exploring Elkhart County: The Ruthmere Mansion

My wife and I had the pleasure to visit Elkhart county for a romantic weekend a few weeks ago. This is the fourth post in a five post series about our adventure in Elkhart County. One of the best attractions in Elkhart was the Ruthmere Museum on the banks of the St. Joseph River. The historic [...]

Exploring Elkhart County: A Day at Amish Acres

Exploring Elkhart County: The Bonneyville Mill

My wife and I had the pleasure to visit Elkhart county for a romantic weekend a few weeks ago. This is the second post in a five post series about our adventure in Elkhart County. Jeremy, I did go to court did not get off because I forgot to do the reschedule. Get a second court date the possibility of the cop not showing up is much better. I have to pay the fine. BUMMER

I am a Mac user, so I'm not sure how it would work on the PC side . . . I know the 720p version of the Aiptek is PC only, because I bought two of those and had to return them . . . : )

It just shows up like a hard drive when I plug in the USB cable, and it's click and drag right into iMovie or FCP. The 720p version recorded .WMV, I think. Regardless, both come with Windows software, so I am pretty sure you won't need to buy any additional software to get the video off your camera.

Not bad for a name ID of only 20%! But my take-away is fairly grim. 80% of voters have still never heard of me... What does that say about our media/politics/money system?
Oy vey.

Thanks for the compliment on my decks!
I am doing some work now for a real estate agent and she was telling me that adding any outdoor living space will get you about eighty cents on the dollar invested at sale. Whereas a kitchen or bath rehab only gets you about sixty cents.
Interesting as I was putting tile up in the kitchen!
I believe it though. Outdoor kitchens, pergolas, decks, patios...it's all getting real big.
I can't wait to do my first outdoor kitchen!

Is Social Media really recession-proof?

A co-worker at our ad agency send me an article from the Wall Street Journal the other day that mentioned that many firms will start cutting back on social media-related expenses in the face of the economic slowdown.

A clip from the article follows (or read the full piece ($)):
