Ian is a former international Karate competitor. Born and raised in Coventry, England, Ian competed internationally for four years as a member of the English Karate Council. His numerous individual and team medals include National Championships in TERA Association, gold medals in Transatlantic Cup and English International Challenge, silver medals in Belgian, Commonwealth and Dutch International Championships and many others. Considered an expert in both karate and self defense, Ian was a regular columnist for Traditional Karate Magazine (Great Britain) and has appeared on its cover, and the covers of other karate magazines. He's been a professional karate instructor and fitness coach for Central England Karate Association and a Self-Protection Instructor for the British Combat Association. Ian also has 15 years experience in nightclub security. Ian moved from Coventry to Carmel, Indiana, eight years ago. He is a full-time group fitness instructor, an ACE certified personal trainer, karate and boxing coach.
KnowSweat Workouts

KnowSweat Workouts was incorporated in the summer of 2004, putting a legal "stamp" on what was already a successful group fitness and personal training business. With years of experience teaching cardio kickboxing fitness classes and one on one personal training, we at KnowSweat were accustomed to awesome results with clients losing weight and re-shaping their bodies.

In 2005, KnowSweat became ACE (American Council on Exercise) Faculty, putting us in a position to award Continuing Education Credits (CEC's) to ACE certified professionals wishing to maintain their ACE credentials. We trained additional instructors to teach our unique and demanding classes, began offering self-defense seminars, and even found ourselves teaching fitness classes as guest instructors in a number of out-of-state gyms where our reputation had preceded us. Steadily, KnowSweat was becoming the company that we had envisioned.

With fitness classes full and word of mouth being our best advertising, we found KnowSweat had actually become a victim of its own success. As our name "KnowSweat" suggests, we'd gained a reputation for conducting brutal and somewhat intimidating workouts -- workouts that attracted the die hard, in-shape client. "I need to be in a lot better shape before I try your KnowSweat class."WHAT??!! This statement, heard on a regular basis, made us realize we needed to address what we considered a huge problem. Our classes were full of confident, self-motivated, fit clients. Most of our personal training clients, however, were just starting out and were working on their weight, their fitness, and their self-esteem. We wanted to bridge the gap between these two groups, so we created our KickStart Live Smart Program.

KickStart is a 10 week entry level program promoting weight loss motivation and exercise education -- the two main ingredients essential for losing weight and keeping it off. In addition to learning about different types of exercise, all KickStart participants use KnowSweat's very own patented weight loss game to ensure adherence and make losing weight fun. Teams are limited to 10 people and groups limited to 3 teams.KickStart focuses on losing the first 20 pounds and on adopting the lifestyle changes of fit, healthy individuals. KickStart is the bridge between the person whose lifestyle habits make them fit, and the person who wants that lifestyle, but needs the confidence to reach for it.

Welcome to Smaller Indiana. I think you will find this is a little different then most Social Networks. The community is active both on and off line. Check out some of our groups and events for information on what is going on around the state.

A few tips as you get started:

This is a place to make personal connections so please add a photo. It is our custom to use personal photos in our profiles not commercial images or logos because we like to see the people with whom we are talking

We love interesting conversations in the main blog, so please use that section, for questions, thought provoking ideas and interesting observations. The forums work best for business promotions, job hunting, employee finding, and event promotion. You can also list events in our calendar section.

Make friends, reach out to people you know, and introduce yourself to people you don’t! I look forward to reading your posts, and perhaps meeting you at one of our many events around town!
