What is your greatest strength?
My greatest strength is my friends. You are the average of the 5 people you surround yourself with, I surround myself with great people.

One of the most exciting things that I get to do is travel the world and speak. So I am always working to stay in touch with my world wide network of friends. I belong to an international mastermind group that allows me to connect in a big way around the world, and of course BNI has opened door and made my world very small with it's international reach. It is these very connection that allow me to lead an incredible life with incredible people.

Because of the wonderful things that I have been able to achieve, I share my time, talent and treasures with many different not for profits, locally and globally.

I believe that my purpose in this life is to "BE Contribution to Others" So I live by the guiding principle that everything I choose to do, must contribute to the lives of others in a postive way.
What are you working on?
Developing the worlds leading referral training organization. Here is a key question to ask yourself. What is not happening in your networking activities, that should be happening? What is it costing you? Do you know?

Networking is an art, and like art it is subjective. What I consider art you might not, and vice versa. But it is art and it is all good. There are a few rules to art, follow the rules and create your own art work.

Building a business by referral is a science. It is systematic approach to getting predictable results in a repeatable way. I work with the Referral Institute to teach and develop systems that will help people generate referrals for their lives and their businesses.

I am also working on a book called "Networking and Sex" How men and women network differently" with Dr. Ivan Misner and Frank DeRaffele. Notice that I am the girl on the team. If you would like to take the survey for out book click on this link.

Lastly, I am working on building a dynamic team of people to support me as I support them.

IndyFringe - Hypothetically Stupid

Exactly the kind of show I would expect to see at the Comedy Sportz, which is one of my favorite venues for comedy. Patrick Coan and Matt Kramer go through a series of short funny skits. You can tell these two young men had a blast in school and have always been the laugh at the party.

Between laughs I thought that I should let my son and his friends know that they should come downtown and see these two. It is definitely college humor and if you just want short mindless fun this is… Continue

Indy Fringe - The Attack of the Big Angry Booty

The Adventures of Les Kurkendaal. Les takes us through his time as a Jenny Craig Counselor and his battle with his weight. He spent time telling us about how he got the job, became a floater counselor from one Jenny Craig Center after another where he met a lot of women who were fighting their own battles with weight loss. Some of those stories were funny and some not so funny.

It was interesting to hear less talk about his own battle with a little humor and some honesty. By the time… Continue

Your Referral Dance Partner - Are they Trained

Dancing with the Stars is a very very popular program. The dancers spend a great deal of time training their dance partners. When one goes left the other goes right, there are dips and turns, stops and starts and all of it with the rhythm of the music in the background.

How does all of this relate to referrals, it is the same strategy. If you are going to get valuable referrals from your referral partners it requires that you train them and train them correctly.

Ladies, Ask for What You Want

Over the years I have developed a pretty deep network and one of the things that I spend a lot of time doing is up dating my database. In the process of doing that this week I noticed that my strongest referral relationships are with guys. So I began to think about that, why are there more males in my strong contact network instead of women and here are some of the things that I came up with.

When I sit down with a guy to build a referral relationship the conversation tends to be… Continue

Thank You to Pat Coyle and those Behind the Scene who Help

As the Franchise Owner for BNI Central and Southern Indiana I often listen to people who take a great deal of time telling me about everything they think I am doing wrong and most often they do not offer a solution. So I really appreciate it when I get a note or a call from someone thanking me or giving me a pat on the back.

Pat Coyle has a community here that is more that 3 times the size of my Franchise and I know he gets a lot of complaints from people who want to tell him… Continue

Hazel: We met last month when you attended the CARA Charities fashion show lucnheon with our mutual fsriend, Troy Hanna. I was just surfing through Smaller Indiana to learn a bit more about Jeremy King (we are supposed to meet next Monday)...and I saw you connected on his wall. Just thought I would say hello and thank you again for attending the CARA event...it was fun! Hope our paths cross again soon out in the community. Maybe we can figure out how to be Smaller Indiana friends!

Hi Hazel. I attended the Business, Blues, and Chocolate event as my first "official" networking event. I've heard a lot about BNI and Rainmakers but never actually attended. Do you participate in any regular networking events?
