When NOT To Wait...

Here's an excerpt from my latest blog post:We are quick to speak up when our kid can’t breathe or someone we love is in danger… but when its us hurting and the hurt isn’t physical – or perhaps our threshold for pain is high – we tend to sit quietly waiting for someone to notice while we conceal the broken pieces of ourselves...Here's the whole deal. Imperfect Vacations

Certainly I'm not the only one who has some less-than-ideal vacation memories! Nothing like spending a week in the backseat of the family car with my little sister and 100 flea bites.

Good news! It's Only Money...

Everywhere we turn, we are bombarded with bad news about the economy. Today my wordpress blog is focused on what the economy DOESN'T have the power to threaten in our lives! Thought Smaller Indiana might enjoy a positive slant on the economy.…

Somewhere Over The 7th Rainbow

It's December. People don't see rainbows in December. Maybe April or May... or during the summer after a brief shower. But not in December. And certainly not for Indiana residents. So on December 21, I blogged about a crazy experience earlier this month when I saw six rainbows on one December day in Hawaii. But today... I was in Houston, Texas, and I saw a seventh...… Continue

This Ain't Prettyville

2008 has been a wild ride that winds up with me quarantined, blogging from a codeine fog about rainbows, coughing and songwriting. Read about it here if you dare.

Nope. i actually completely agree. I think people spend alot of time complaining about what people are doing, instead of doing something about it and making an impact and a change. That is what my organization is trying to do and it shows that there are people out there, 114 as of today..haha....as a part of it that really want to make a difference. Keep your idealized voice, it is what is going to make change!

I just wanted to say that you really are a great writer and i love reading what you post, also it seems that you have a great spirit too. So many people think that posting means that you have to pose negative questions and problems.

Thanks!

Just a quick greeting. Since you are a writer I will not say much lest you correct my paper and send it back. I once consider myself a fair creative writer but miles of red ink from teachers revealed otherwise.
Enjoy your day.

Lets definitely find a time to get together! (Also, I have to tell you - We just read The 4-Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss and I had a similar knee-jerk reaction to his take on multi-tasking...so I really enjoyed your rebuttal post and 24-hours in the life of a uni-tasker!)

I just realized - (and am subsequently making an assumption...) that I've "heard" of you! Your (I'm guessing you're the right one!) husband Scott left a comment about my band and mentioned that he owns an event planning business, and I said that he should talk to Aaron, my boyfriend, who is really passionate about all things entrepreneurial ...in any case, over the course of the comment exchange, Scott mentioned that you write music - maybe you should bring your music and be a part of the band! : )

Emily, you left a comment about word peeves...and you cited "special"...this is absolutely my own word peeve as well, and ironically....I am a pastor's kid myself and my Dad was the primary proponent of the word special! I don't know what it was for him about vague terms...but...I wholeheartedly agree with your word vote!
