I am considering a small wind generator for my home, but I know I will have obsticles with the home owners association. I would appreciate any information you may have regarding a home owners rights in the area and your recommendations for which generator I should consider.
If get to Brown County or maybe when, ask the people for Jacob Brown...an ambassador from another time...
More importantly, we don't gather at the table for dinner with our families, we leave food "out" for whoever gets home first from soccer practice or whatever. What does this teach our kids? This affects our attitudes that we carry out into the world. This 50/50 thinking needs to stop. Esp in marriages. So many couples live in the "contract" mindset instead of the "whatever it takes for you" mindset. No one cooks for the other as one example, and that aspect of serving is lost.
This is truly terrible. When each person fends for themself, where's the communication and downloading of the day? Who hears this downloading? There is intimacy in the family dinner. I think it's the heart of the family. And if you can balance that, then you are able to learn to listen in society and to others, like the elderly that you speak of as one great example.
There is a bit of a problem with serving and listening these days. It takes more effort. When was the last time you went to a drive through window or in a store and the cashier had an attitude of serving you? We are called to serve each other in this world. Listening is the best skill any human can have.
I think you are on to something though. Technology needs to balance with the human person. I can't tell you how many times I go out to meet a friend over a drink or dinner and they "have" to answer their phone, or they keep "texting" during our whole time together. That's nothing but rude.
Apparently, I'm all over the board here. I'll stop.
I'm hoping your business is successful and your new home idea consists of one bit fat dinner table as the centerpiece. People naturally gather in the kitchen at a party or near the food table... think about it....
New house, off the grid... Interesting.
Don't forget the drainage. Water is and will continue to become one of our most precious commodities in Indiana.
Also, Hope that you're finding ways to incoprate existing materials into the new house...
Would love to hear/see more of this...
Lastly, I'm sure you have not forgotten the economics part... in particular what you're doing to enhance the structure's resell value if you ever decide to move (exit strategy)
Have a safe and joy filled holiday season!
