If You Only Have a Dollar to Spend on Marketing

We have a saying in marketing – “if you only have a dollar to spend on marketing, you should spend it on connecting with your existing clients/contacts”. We all know that a dollar won’t get you far today

but the saying still holds true. The point is pretty simple – a

relationship with your existing contacts (clients or influencers) is

more valuable to your business than a relationship that hasn’t been

established yet. So, if you only have a dollar to spend, “the best…

Would you talk to your mom this way??? Or how about your boss?

I learned early in my career that perception is reality in many instances of life – especially business. This is a difficult

fact for some to embrace, but the good news is you do have some control

over how you or your business is perceived. When someone interacts with

you, there are many characteristics that play into the culmination of

how they perceive you – your appearance, your interactions with others,

how your handle adversity and of course how…

Are Facebook and or Twitter right for your business?

Facebook - Twitter By now I’m sure you're all too familiar with the words “Facebook” and “Twitter”. It seems one of these social media giants gets coverage once a week by Brian Williams on NBC Nightly News. And like all good Business Owners / Executives, I’m sure you’ve asked the inevitable… Continue

Email Marketing: Just because you can swing a hammer, doesn’t mean you should build your own home!

I think of myself as pretty “handy”. I enjoy doing small projects around the house but certainly know I have limitations when it comes to building things (especially when electricity is involved!) I’m lucky to have most the tools and actually know how to use the majority of them. I have multiple hammers and have driven a few nails over my 32 years.

Most of us have at least some building tools – like a hammer, and even though most would say they can use a hammer to hang a… Continue

Are your Marketing & Sales Departments - Seperate but Equal?

How often have you seen someone with the title of Sales & Marketing Director? It’s almost like saying I’m the Architect & General Contractor. There is certainly crossover between the two functions, but can one person effectively do both? I can safely say I wouldn’t want my General Contractor designing my home!

Many businesses combine the function of Marketing & Sales. In some cases one team facilitates both needs and in other cases one person oversees both functions. In… Continue

Hi Chad,

I saw that you were on the Business Roundtable Network (BRN) discussion in Smaller Indiana.   We have our biggest event in our short history (Jan. 2009 until now) coming up next week.   If ever there was a time to get involved with BRN now would be the time. We provide the support and exchange of expertise needed in this economy.  We need a core of people (50) who are truly committed to helping each other get through this economy and thrive.
It would be great to have you as a part of that.
Hope to see you next Thursday.  See details below.
Thursday, April 30th
4:30 pm to 6:30 pm
At Conquest Racing Headquarters
Get additional information and register in advance by going to our website:  www.brncommunity.com
We need you to register because food is being provided by Z’s Oyster Bar and Steakhouse – excellent!
We need numbers so we get the right amount of food!
So register now for this FREE event.
I hope to see you there.

What can I say- I LOVE the Essenhaus! I'm from Kalamazoo,MI.. so it wasn't too far of a drive to there.. and I'm a night owl.. it takes time to keep up with all these networking websites!! :)

And yes, unfortunately, I am looking for employment... I currently work for a magazine here in Indy that has had to downsize.. and I was part of that... I would love to find a full time or 3/4 position with a company and also be able to grow my business. I know that I am a bit far off still from being able to do my freelance design full time... any tips/advice are appreciated!

Have a great night!
