It Started Right Here

It started on Smaller Indiana.

The day I signed up, in fact. After joining the writer's group, I scanned the list of writers to see if I recognized any names, and that's when I spotted her: Cathy Day.

It wasn't the first time I'd seen her name. About a year earlier, I'd read her incredible collection The Circus in Winter, a chronicle of a circus town named Lima, modeled on her hometown of Peru, Indiana. An absolute marvel of storytelling, the book just knocked me out.
