Dogs drink out of the toilet because the water is cold. As far as the mudhole is concerned, maybe he drinks from there because it is providing certain nutrients/minerals he isn't getting enough of?? Not really sure.

Does your dog drink from the toilet?

We have two dogs. We have Sparticus, a linebacker size maltese, and Jaxson. Jaxson is a golden retriever who we got from a local rescue organization. As most pets, both are spoiled, have their own toy box and a big back yard to play in.

They also have a water bowl that we keep full all the time. For the life of me, I can’t figure out why Jaxon prefers to drink out of the toilet. My wife thinks it is because of the height of the toilet makes it easier for him to drink or the fact that after flus… Continue
