Ed Morrison and the Institute for Open Economic Networks (I-Open)

Ed Morrison has a different way of looking at economic development, by using open source thinking and networks to encourage innovation. This approach sounds easy, but it is not.

“We need to shift the conversation,” says Ed Morrison, Director of the Institute for Open Economic Networks (I-Open). Morrison, speaking at the I-Open Leadership Retreat, Punderson S… Continue

Betsey - Just found you on this site and wanted to say "Hi again!
I also want to add what admiration I have for what you are doing in Ohio. As you know, I am a dedicated fan of Ed Morrison. His knowledge and participation was such a huge factor of the success of the Leadership Learning Lab in southern Indiana. Keep up the good work at I-Open!

Betsy:

If you are Indiana anytime, I would certainly appreciate connecting. I am the Executive Director of the Indiana Association for Community Economic Development (IACED). IACED is dedicated to serving those who build strong Indiana communities. IACED members rehabilitate and construct housing, create jobs, develop real estate, support small business development and deliver social services. IACED works to strengthen both the community economic development industry and local organizations through technical assistance, public policy advocacy, training and professional development and member collaboration.

After reading the posts on the i-open leadership retreat, I think you would find value in the Indiana Statewide Conference on Housing and Community Economic Development. The event is described on Smaller Indiana, here.

This year's featured conference speaker is Jeff Lawrence, a principal with Cambridge Leadership Associates (CLA). Jeff's remarks will present the concept of Adaptive Leadership. Adaptive Leadership provides a framework for organizations and communities to overcome barriers to change and move forward to achieve their mission and goals.

I look forward to connecting.

It is great to connect. I have been connecting NEO people interested in creativity and innovation to this space to contribute.

I hope you and Smaller Indiana members will join us for next Thursday's Midtown Brews Open Conversation with Meet The Bloggers via streaming video and live chat from 6PM - 7PM. We would like to know what you, business leaders, and college and university alumni can contribute to help all of us plan Ohio's Energy Portfolio. We will all have the opportunity to exchange knowledge and stories. Of course the drawback is, you'll have to bring your own brew and chips!
