What's Your Offense Plan?

I speak with business owners and sales people daily. The obvious topic of discussion is the economy, and I’m noticing a theme. DEFENSE. It’s an easy measure to take since so many are in “block and tackle” mode, cutting costs wherever necessary. Whether it’s switching from 2-ply to 1-ply, going with the generic brand of office supplies, or even cutting employee hours, playing a good defense is a fundamental strategy. Could be that it is fundamentally wrong as well.

Consider this recent conversat… Continue

Tightening the Budget can really Cost You

It’s only natural in these difficult times that we try to kill two or three or four birds with one stone. Sounds like a great idea, Right? I could be wrong, but I do not believe the economic slump is to blame. We all want to be everything to everyone, or expect our employees to juggle a lot of responsibilities. It is not uncommon, and what seems to be much more common is the outcome. Frustration, anxiety, stress!!! Oh no, how do I make it stop? May I share an example?

Imagine you are in a the… Continue

New Year, New Initiative, New Appreciation

What a fantastic year I've experienced. So much learning ,and growth. I'm extremely proud to have made it though my first year of business ALIVE and somewhat sane!! I've hit a lot of pivotal moments this last year. in Jan. 08' I joined Rainmakers, and I had no idea how big of an impact that decision would make on me personally and professionally. I believe I've learned more about myself, my strengths, and my weaknesses in the last 12 months, than I have the last 25 years. I've been so fortunate… Continue

Blogging Makes the Heart Grow Fonder!

I have been a very poor example of the power of blogging for many reasons really. It's hard to know what to write about and when you have the thought it's hard to find the time. I've heard so many success stories. Now I know this isn't the first blog about the power of blogging, nor will it be the last. I just want to hear some reasons why you blog and what it's done for your business. Tell me WHERE DO YOU FIND YOUR INSPIRATION? I'm dying to know. Perhaps you can enlighten the rest of us who kin… Continue

Practice What You Preach

We’ve all heard the saying “practice what you preach” but did you ever stop to think that your image is part of your preaching? Have you ever met someone whose image makes no sense with what is coming out of their mouth? I meet them daily. I can’t tell you how many IT or web developers I’ve met that look like they’ve just stepped out of 1992. Could you imagine if they were offering the same technology of that time? They’d be out of business. I’d have a hard time believing they were up to date on… Continue

Hi Amy,

We exchanged email a long time ago.
I want to tell you about an event for the networking group I co-founded.
The Business Roundtable Network (BRN) is having our biggest event in our short history (Jan. 2009 until now) coming up next week. If ever there was a time to get involved with BRN now would be the time. We provide the support and exchange of expertise needed in this economy. We need a core of people (50) who are truly committed to helping each other get through this economy and thrive.
It would be great to have you as a part of that.
Hope to see you next Thursday. See details below.

Thursday, April 30th
4:30 pm to 6:30 pm
At Conquest Racing Headquarters
Get additional information and register in advance by going to our website: www.brncommunity.com
We need you to register because food is being provided by Z’s Oyster Bar Steakhouse – excellent!
We need numbers so we get the right amount of food!
So register now for this FREE event.
I hope to see you there.

Hey Amy! Thank you for the invite to your seminars. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend, but I greatly appreciate it. I'm doing well. I decided to just focus on my independent work. I have a half dozen clients I personal train or do wellness coaching with and 7 small business clients I coach. Some are paid, others are exchanging products and services, but it's paying the bills. My car broke down so that slowed me down, but I'm still networking and gaining insight, valuable information and learning a ton about business and myself. It's great! I'm also working on two other "ideas" for a small business which I have been researching. How is Trustpointe treating you? Talk to you soon.

Hi Amy,

I am definitely still interested, but not sure if Plainfield on Tuesday is doable. Please send me the details and I will make it if I can. I have a few appointments scattered throughout the day. Thanks for reaching out. I will be looking for you on Picky!
