Good Morning, I just read your profile and thought as a small business professional you might be interested in our local business network (IBN). Indiana Business Network has chapters all over the state. Locally we meet in Plainfield every Wednesday morning at 10am. There is no cost or obligation to check it out and the monthly dues are only $25.00. I joined recently and it is by fare the least expensive means of lead generation that I've found. I'd be happy to answer any questions if you are interested.

Mandy,

I'm heading up to the Old National Bank at Clay Terrace today from 12:00 to 3:00. That is going to be our regular "networking" day. Angela won't be there because she has a big project she needs to get finished, but I'm going to go ahead up.
You are welcome to join me if you are available.

Hi Mandy, It was nice meeting you today at IBN. You've got a great thing going with Spotlight -- just looked at the website. Let's keep in touch.

Mandy, Thanks for volunteering to see Moved. As soon as I get the press passes, I'll let you know. What's the best way for me to get one to you?

CRAZY!! So you're the artist Scott mentioned to me a couple weeks ago -- he has been hoping we could get together soon! Let's meet up. I want to hear more about what you and your husband are doing. All the stuff you like doing (per your SI page) is all the stuff I love to do, too. And we're PKs! My email address is: esutherland@gaithermusic.com. Let's definitely work on a time to get together.

Why join Smaller Indiana? What are you hoping to experience here ?
When my boyfriend and business partner and I struck out as entrepreneurs, we moved away from our "social circle" because we found that we just didn't have as much in common with them. We have wanted for a long time (but just haven't found ourselves with the time) to begin networking to find others with similar experiences - to share support and inspiration, and to trade ideas, and fun recommendations...we hope to find that Smaller Indiana is a source like this!
Freelance Interests/Experience - I am always looking to find forums where my "talents and interests" would be useful. If there's anything on this list that you have a need for, contact me, I'd be happy to hear about your project and maybe contribute!

Photography - I co-owned a small photography studio for a few years and have experience in event, architectural, portraiture, and travel photography, for both personal and marketing purposes. Additionally I'm comfortable with editing in several different applications. I'd love to grow even more in this field, and I would consider myself capable, and with a good eye, but still hungry to learn all I can.

Writing - Everything from travel, fitness, food review to business planning/HR Documents and web copy. I have done this professionally, and do short stories/essays/personal editorial pieces for fun in my spare time.

Amateur Movie-making - What exactly I do is hard to explain. for an example, please go to www.groundaffectslandscape.com

Marketing/Design - Pretty self explanitory - I would love to do projects for Non-profits at no cost in my spare time. You're welcome to ask for samples of what I've done.

Sweet & Lowdown - My band : ) I should have some music/a myspace band page up soon. *Note - Here are some pictures from the benefit show we did at Whit's Inn on the 26th!

All of this is aside from my primary business (which I'm still in the process of building) Spotlight Arts Academy, which is Children's Musical Theatre in Hendricks Co. The ultimate goal with this project is to have the resources to fund my own non-profit org. that builds homes for orphans around the world!

(Obviously, see my business website above for more detailed info about Spotlight)

Moved - An iNDYFRINGE Review

I arrive at the American Cabaret Theatre early, here on a Sunday evening to review Moved - The Process of an Artist, an iNDYFRINGE presentation. I open the program, which describes the production so;

"Moved is about sharing an artist's journey. Dancers, musicians, and visual artists have collaborated to exhibit the power we each hold by willingly moving into, around and beyond the talents we possess".

Reading carefully, I try to pre-meditate my experience. From inside t… Continue

The missing link

I have to be honest and say that I can pinpoint the moment I knew I was "in love" with Smaller Indiana. I used to go on a lot of "dates" with networking sites. My response was always tepid; "Good God, the immaturity" (I think we all know what I'm talking about), or ..."What just happened there? That wasn't conversation, that was a sales pitch!", then sometimes "Whoa there, Obi-Wan, I don't speak nano-anything. Please hold while I encyclopedia.com that."

...there's everything out there, from the… Continue
