AllThingsAging is something that people would follow if they wanted to know about aging (anywhere in the world). The first is more formal and will only be followed by people who already know who you are.

What a difference a day makes

Earlier this week, I had a little pity party for myself on my personal blog, in the form of a post called "I don't wanna."

Today, I'm in a much better frame of mind, having attended the Smaller Indiana, Bigger Ideas conference yesterday. Who knew a business-ish conference could be inspiring, or at the least, uplifting?

In the Twitter stream yesterday, someone smartly summed up the conference theme as "Passion. Connect. Execute… Continue

Tweet this Smoosier to the Biggest Loser finale

I LOVE watching the Biggest Loser (admittedly, often with a bowl of ice cream on my lap). Every week I watch the show and then blog it. Over the past couple of seasons, I've developed a bit of a following of people who come to my blog to read what I have to say and to add their own opinions to the discussion. So, I'm trying to mount a Twitter campaign to get NBC to fly me out to live blog/Tweet the finale next week.

If you Twitter and think my idea is a cool one, please tweet this:

Moon Over My Mammy

So today was the big mammogram day. And I have to say, what's the big deal?

I arrived a little early and enjoyed a few minutes of the Today show before the perky blonde tech (Andrea was her name) called me back. She led me to a small changing room that could have been at home in a fancy women's clothing boutique, except for the "Mammowipes" in case I had on any deodorant I needed to wipe off. I didn't.

I stripped from the waist up and put on my mammogown, then went to an interior waiting area… Continue

How I almost died on a Georgia mountain

The one thing that I wanted to do for sure when I planned this trip to see my brother and his family was to go to Stone Mountain. When I was a little girl, my aunt and uncle lived in Stone Mountain and we made a couple of trips to the park for a walk up the mountain.

The mountain is the largest piece of exposed granite in the world. As if that weren't enough, there is a memorial carving on the side of the mountain that depicts three Confederate heroes of the Civil War: Confederate President Jef… Continue

Hello, I am new to Smaller Indiana and thought I would reach out to connect and say hello. My name is Brandon and I am the Director for Musical Medicine. We build music libraries for hospitals.

Are you planning on attending the Chocolate Blues and Business Networking Festival next Thursday? I hear it's going to be huge, they expect about 1,500 people to attend. It should be a great networking day! I have free tickets, if you need a ticket, let me know and I'll email you one. If you want more details about it, it's listed under events on the 26th.

Have a good day and I look forward to networking with you. Please let me know if I can ever do anything for you,
Brandon

Hi, Amy. Sorry I'm just now responding to your blog post on the Fair, but I am just now going through lots of emails I didn't get to during the fair (plus I took a little break after the fair was over).

Anyway, it's really funny you brought this to my attention because I had already seen it thanks to a Web service I use and, in fact, I had printed it out to show other fair management that you are exactly the person we are trying to attract and connect with. I'm so glad that you do love the fair and that you were able to have a great experience even if you had to deviate from your initial plan.

Would love your thoughts on how to make things better, too. Have a great day!

Amy, thanks for your concern. This weekend and today, I'm working to clearly identify my skills and passions so I can research the companies and industries that might be appropriate. I'm working thorugh 48 Days to the Work You Love. Over the next few days, I'll be able to articulate exactly what I'm looking for in a job/team situation.

Thanks again!

A few things to consider before joining Smaller Indiana:

1. We want to know the real you...Please use your real name (first and last) when you sign up, or we cannot open your account

2. We want to know the real you...Please do NOT use your Smaller Indiana blog for blatant self promotion

3. We want to see your smiling face...Please do not use logos or commercial images for your profile photo

5. Please do NOT post commercial video (demo reels), or Corporate Website promotions in your blog

6. You can post pretty much anything you want on your own personal page (self promotion, etc), and you can change the style of your personal profile page to reflect your corporate identification if you so choose.

7. Smaller Indiana is supported by its members, and by corporate sponsors. If you're interested in learning more about sponsorship, please call Pat Coyle at 317 332 7878.
