Hire a good CPA or knowledgable business advisor and use him or her regularly. If you don't understand financial and cost accounting, meet at least monthly with someone who does. 90% of my clients whose business are in trouble failed to learn and understand accounting concepts. I spend 80% of my consulting time working with financials! It's that important.

Get a good insurance agent to help you develop a business insurance plan.

A good attorney helps as well.

Your CPA, insurance agent and lawyer are the three most important people on your team, and they will know other good business contacts for you.

Good luck.
