I haven't read the book yet- but how very true! A Dip is what lead me to the marketing side of sales & marketing. I was in outside sales and realized I was not as focused on those tasks as other sales people like me- and after sales dipped in 2001 (9/11), I rode it out until it stablized and then found my calling as a marketing manager. Best move I ever made was the "quit" sales and follow my passions and strengths.

That's awesome. Thanks for sharing! I've often failed in the past to have the courage to quit. The trade-off wasn't worth it, so I stopped being so pathetic.

The Dip was the first book I read from Seth Godin. It's a book that's changed my perspective on just about every aspect of life.

I just finished the last chapter of this book. When you have reached a cul de sac in your career or in your business the best advice is to change lanes , ride the Dip and re-create yourself or your opportunities. Read the book it is well grounded in good advice.
