What a world! I worked with Seth in NY in the '90s. His company was still small enough that everyone went by first names. At first, there wasn't even a receptionist, so everyone had to take turns picking up the phone. On the other end might be a famous author or even the founder of Yahoo or Amazon. It was a remarkable group of people with a lot of ideas and energy. But back then, the world wasn't ready for us. Now those same ideas are marketing gospel and Seth is an action figure. Wow.

Thanks Lalita! You make a great point. I, too, believe we're all remarkable. We just get in our own way sometimes.

Hey, everybody! I remember getting an early version of this book (I'm BzzAgent Lalita). After gobbling it up, I put it in an envelope and mailed it to just about everyone I had an address for. I wish I'd had people sign it as they read it--it would have been full of sigs.

Really got us thinking that year--we discovered how that we didn't need to to much to remarkabilisize ourselves. We were pretty remarkable already, but didn't focus on that stuff, having given ourselves over to the tyranny of the day to day.

Best,
Lalita

Seth Godin, Marketing Guru Action Figure
Imagine having your own personal marketing guru you can go to for advice and guidance. You could pay millions of dollars for consultants, but why not just get the Marketing Guru Action Figure? Marketing genius and famous blogger Seth Godin serves as the model for this 5.375" plastic action figure with his trademark mismatched socks and business casual clothes. Each figure comes with a free gift and the Little Book of Marketing Secrets. It's rumored that if you want an insight into what your customers want and how they'd like to be communicated with, you can rub Seth's bald head and all will be made clear

This looks like a great group that could share the benefits equally amongst partners. I really like that idea. As a small business owner, I like to do business with other local business people whenever possible, avoiding the empirical Wal-marts of the world. (Fight the power! lol)

I not only practice this in my day-to-day business transactions but I do whatever I can to make my customers become your customers as well. On my website there is a Friends of My Car Doc page where we promote other local businesses that My Car Doc works with. Another thing that I do for our business partners is refer them on the weekly email blast that reaches approx. 200 other businesses here in Indy.

I'm looking forward to working with you all and I'd really like to meet one-on-one or in small luncheons where we can discover how to help one another become more successful!

About My Car Doc: We are a mobile mechanic service. We take care of your car while you're taking care of business. You never even have to leave the office. Just give us a call or an email and we come to you for your oil changes, tire rotations, brakes, tune-ups and more!

Our technicians are Blue Oval Certified (Ford), ASE Certified and together have over 20 years in the automotive industry.

My Car Doc is also very proud of our straight A rating on Angie's List!

Help

A few things to consider before joining Smaller Indiana:

1. We want to know the real you...Please use your real name (first and last) when you sign up, or we cannot open your account

2. We want to know the real you...Please do NOT use your Smaller Indiana blog for blatant self promotion

3. We want to see your smiling face...Please do not use logos or commercial images for your profile photo

4. Events should be posted in the events calendar, not inside blog posts

5. Please do NOT post commercial video (demo reels), or Corporate Website promotions in your blog

6. You can post pretty much anything you want on your own personal page (self promotion, etc), and you can change the style of your personal profile page to reflect your corporate identification if you so choose.

7. Smaller Indiana is supported by its members, and by corporate sponsors. If you're interested in learning more about sponsorship, please call Pat Coyle at 317 332 7878.
