One of the subjects of my upcoming newsletter is what approach should users take on deciding when to perform maintenance, upgrade hardware, or replace a computer.
What are your thoughts on the matter? When visiting a client's site, or even a family member (because we all do it), how to do determine what to recommend? Is replacement strictly on age or do you take a depreciation method. How do you determine the cost of an upgrade isn't worth the benefits and therefore recommend a replacement? If you decide that a simple upgrade or maintenance will suffice, do you use the tools built in with Windows, or do you have other apps you utilize to help perform maintenance? Any apps to steer clear of?
I know there are many ways I approach the topics I have addressed, but would love to get some feedback from others. Your thoughts?
