Hi all,

I would like to get some feedback on an experimental Ning website I set up for the IndyiPhoneDev group.

Please go check it out at:

http://indyiphonedev.ning.com/

...and let me know what you think. Are the forums, blog posts, etc. useful features?

If feedback is positive, we may switch the group's website over to this site.

Note: as a Smoosier, you should already have an account login for this website. Just log in using your smallerindiana.com login.

For anyone who hasn't gotten the word, IU-Bloomington is having a one-day (actually, six-hour) conference on iPhone development, on Saturday, November 14. Register before November 6, for $20 (payable at the conference). Lunch will be provided.

This is an introductory conference, with presentations by Steve Hayman (Apple) and several members of the Indy iPhone Dev group (Chris Patterson, August Trometer, Jim Solenberg, and maybe Jason Bruder – I'm not sure).

That's too bad Justin, although I haven't had any issues dealing with the AppStore regarding my apps ( keeping fingers crossed and knocking on wood ), I do get discouraged at the number of apps out there and trying to get noticed. Although I'm still having fun developing, it sure would be nice to make some money at this. :)

I'll do client work if it comes along, but I'm focusing my business back on the Mac platform where I make 800% more in revenue and don't have to deal with Apple's draconian AppStore practices.

I see that Justin has been written up by MacWorld: Developer sells off iPhone apps, gets out of App Store business.

Justin, I'm sorry to see you leave the App Store. Are you planning to continue to participate in this group? Are you planning to do any custom apps for clients? In any case, I wish the best for you in your Macintosh business.

I'm assuming I will be doing the presentation I had planned for last month on iTunes Connect analysis tools. I don't know if any other presos are planned.

Reminder: The next meeting of the Indy iPhone Dev group is tomorrow (Tuesday, October 13) evening (6 PM – 8 PM). Unlike the first two meetings, this meeting will be held at the Shelby [Street] Branch of the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library. This is south-southwest of the i-65 / Raymond Street interchange. (See the web site for a map link.)

Question: I haven't yet seen an agenda. Has anyone?

There is a new version of the iPhone SDK, available at developer.apple.com/iphone

Chris, monotouch generates C# code when you create gui's with Interface Builder... So generally it designed to use C# however I have hear that VB will work. DLR languages are not supported. Not sure about Boo.
