Hey I am looking for a wedding photographer from around indianapolis. Can you email me your portfolio link and prices to ashanster [at] gmail.com. Much appreciated! And the occasion will be in next year September.

Yes was asked about that a lot. Normally its not an issue; the only time its ever been one is when I'm shooting against the wall. The speckle-rays will lay across the top of the wall near the ceiling but they have never made land fall across the subject. When shooting against a backdrop or any of the props in the room, its not an issue at all.

It was a concern of mine when I first saw the space but 95% of the time its not an issue.

Re: self conscious, I remember feeling that way a lot. I'd pull by the side of the road and haul out the camera to take pix of some landscape or whatever. And I remember feeling VERY self-conscious as countless others drove by; I had this overwhelming feeling of -- who did I think I am, some kind of photographer?? Which even though I was, officially, I still felt awkward and stupid. Not until I established a pretty good portfolio of shots did it finally start to dissipate where I wore almost an arrogance of -- thats right, I am a photograph, want to see my gallery of landscapes? LOL. So yeah, its nice to put that feeling behind you so you can focus on getting the shot. I would have been very glad to have your pix if you'd taken them. ;^)

Sorry Dario, I brought my camera but still sometimes feel self conscious with it in crowds I don't know well.

Wonderful time though, met some great people and really enjoyed seeing your studio space. I kept wondering if your shiny metal ceiling tiles ever made controlling light spill a challenge?

LOL, you're not kidding. I was happy to meet those in the group that turned out; am sorry more from the group didnt make it though. It was a fun event though and hopefully can make it a yearly event. Next time I might even remember to break out the camera and take a few pix, LOL.

Dario, Saturday night was eventful. The studio looks great, and seems to be perfect to rent out when I need it in the future.

I am sure you have plenty of left overs. You probably have your lunch prepared for the next two weeks.

Kendal R. Miller Comment by Kendal R. Miller on November 7, 2009 at 6:34pm

It's funny that when I started my photography career that I never would have imaged the things that I would be getting myself into! Last week I was photographing my husband's 12-point deer harvest (sorry, if any of you are offended by hunting) and then helped him prepare it for processing. Today I captured The Outdoor Channel's "Drop Zone TV Prostaff" Shannon Gillette with her 9-point deer harvest taken in Ohio County, Indiana. Hopefully I won't get the reputation of being the "harvest deer photographer!" Ugh! :) © 2009 Photo by Kendal R. Miller of Photography by Kendal
