RAMP is the synthesis of urban renewal and the creative class in Indianapolis.
We have monthly meetings with a board but do not have a fiscal status and are looking for a fiscal agent.
We are actively making progress with DPW, INDOT and the Federal parties about securing the date.
We are aware of the permits and hope permit waiver, police and barricades for the potentail event could be provided by the City.

8-12 on a Saturday is the amount of time the artists will need to create 200+ murals. The center mural space on the MarketStreetRamp.com and the ramp itself will be dedicated to the Indianapolis flag. The chalk and aerosol propellant are Green and environmentally friendly. To deal with overspray we will need to line the R.A.M.P for two blocks with orange snow fencing with an inner layer of viscuine. The The theme is Renewal + Revitalization. We plan to have spoken words artists with spontaneous poetry and perhaps some street theatre throughout the day. The Indianapolis Chalk Art Association and SubSurface will provide many artists but we with have a space for children VSA Very Special Artists and NAMI National Alliance for the Mentally Ill artists.

The second part is where people can walk on the R.A.M.P. as well a music festival with 5 or 6 curated local bands (from Groovetruck). We have had some dialog with Primary Colours who created Art Vs. Art to help with logistics and volunteers. We have event insurance through American Business Insurance.

We could use assistance with finding fast-track grants and corporate sponsorship.
We are open to ideas and involvement from many groups.
We meet on Monday's at 5 at MacNiven's or the Rathskeller.
There is a SmallerIndiana.com 2000th member party at the Rathskeller on the 13th of May.
There is some information on the RAMP group on SI and we have some infomration at MarketStreetRAMP.com.

Thank you so much for embracing this idea. I think we will R.A.M.P up Indianapolis.

Matt:
This one cries ouf for pictures of people's favorite spots -- parks, urban corners, etc. I hope we can get that going.

Hey Andy,

Ha!
I like to think I'm the littlest Hoosier in Hoosierville.
Respects to Dr. Seuss. Recall Horton Hears a Who? :-)

What about Hoosierapolis? Hoosierapolis, Hoosierana - has a nice ring to it, don't cha think?
Matt Theobald Comment by Matt Theobald on April 27, 2008 at 4:28pm
There's a story behind Hoosierville. Recall when the NCAA wanted to change indigenous names of teams. Well, the Indianapolis Indians (and the Eiteljorg Native American Museum) are in their view. If we'd have to change the name of the Indians, we'd have to also change "Indian"apolis and "Indian"a.

So Hoosierville would be the new capital of Hoosierdom.

This group is a place to define and redefine our fair city and who's here!
