Smaller Indiana

Making people and ideas findable

I work for the University of Indianapolis Center for Aging & Community (CAC). I plan to start a Twitter account for the Center and am interested in some feedback about choosing a name. (And I'm assuming that the good souls here at Smaller Indiana won't run right out and register those names).

The two I am considering are:

UIndyCAC and AllThingsAging (which is the name of our blog).

Any opinions about either name? I think the association with UIndy in the first, though I don't know if it will make sense to anyone. AllThingsAging certainly gets across what we're about, but doesn't tie in the university.

Any other ideas?

How about one that integrates both a bit? Like IndyAllThingsAging?

My vote is for allthingsaging because it is straight forward.

Channeling my Romeo and Juliet here.....What's in a name? ;) Would a rose by another other name smell as TWEET? ;)

Does the name of the Twitter account handle really matter? After all, you can add in a full name and location, plus a link and a short bio.

Largely, the content and information you provide will be much more important than the name itself. Plus, you already have a blog (and probably other ways) to cross promote your Twitter account.

That said, I do like AllThingsAging since it is the name of the blog and you'll have the opportunity to further identify yourself on the Twitter bio.

I'd go with AllThingsAging since it would be a great tie into the Blog. You can easily associate with the UIndy or CAC in the description area.

I like AllThingsAging because it is the name of your blog. In response to Curt.. I would add your full name and location and you will be GOOD to go.

AllThingsAging is something that people would follow if they wanted to know about aging (anywhere in the world). The first is more formal and will only be followed by people who already know who you are.
