Making people and ideas findable

I put this in the main part but figured that I need to do it as a discussion instead so that others can leave feedback! Sorry for the duplication!

I am hoping that one of you can help me. I can not read tinyurl's. Can you help me?

I keep trying on two different computers and have the same error message. It says:
Connection Interrupted
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading. The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again.

Does it have to do with my settings or what could be the problem?

Please help! This is very frustrating and I am missing out on alot! Thank you very much!

What web browser are using? Have you had problems with all tinyurls?

Tim - Thank you for your response! I am using Firefox 3.0.5. Yes, I have problems with all tinyurls. Any thoughts?

Hmmm... I've had problems with different tinyurls at times. Sometimes it seems tinyurl.com isn't redirecting to the proper destination.

You might try this little tool (Item #3 on the page below) as a work-around. After installing it to your bookmark bar, it should convert any tinyurls on the current page to their original, lengthy versions.

Kristy,
Dont know if you have your problem solved yet or not, but you might want to write to the support boards at Mozilla and see if there is some plug in you need or some other thing with your Firefox. I use Firefox as well and have not had any problems in particular w/ tiny urls. I also wonder if you have a separate pop up blocker or some firewall program that may be working in your "favor" to block this. I am using Trend Micro and several other popup and spyware blockers and sometimes they conflict.

Hey Kristiekreations!

What are you using to view your Twitter updates? Are you trying to just click on them or paste them from the updates?

Reply to This

I use both TweetDeck as well as check Twitter on the website using Firefox. Since you mentioned pasting them, I copied and pasted two tinyurls to check and they came up with the same error. It is very frustrating!!

Can you put the URL's on here? Maybe it's just the URL's that are defective....
