Tthe Hoosier Outdoor Experience: Sept 26, 27
Mix a little mountain biking with hiking, fly fishing, archery, kayaking, target shooting, horseback riding, camping or just about any other outdoor activity you can imagine and you get the Hoosier Outdoor Experience.
Presented by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and the Natural Resources Foundation, the free event is Sept. 26-27 at Fort Harrison State Park, a 1,700-acre oasis of woods, water and open green spaces on the outskirts of Indianapolis.
There’s never been an event like this in Indiana - two full days to wrap your arms around the great outdoors with hands on educational opportunities and skill-building activities focusing on natural resource conservation, outdoor ethics and responsibility.
This large-scale event offers outdoor experiences for everyone.

Parking, admission, activities, demonstrations and seminars are free to the public.

Today, thousands of students will be visiting from schools around the state. Tomorrow and Sunday are the days for the general public. - I'm looking forward to attending the Experience at Ft. Ben. I participated in BOW (Becoming an Outdoor Woman) which was sponsored by the DNR. It was great!

Greetings all,
The Hoosier Outdoor Experience is just around the corner. Here's what you need to know:
* Activities will be occurring throughout the day in each of the areas.
* You must register for the event, but it is free.
* Parking is at the finance center, the park will be closed to traffic.

Hi Scott-
I'm on the board of the Hoosier Mountain Bike Association, and am involved w/ the planned trails at Ft Ben, and will be helping w/ the cycling portion of the event. If we can get the feds to sign off on our paperwork, we'll start building trails this spring!
