Making people and ideas findable

Where shall we go? We were going to do sushi for April lunch, but we ended up doing Mexican instead... Does sushi in May sound good? If so, where do you suggest we go?

I'd like to chime in for Ocean World as well. It fits the criteria (not a chain restaurant) and has great sushi and a clean (up to health dept. codes) and pleasing environment. I also love Naked Tchopstix but prefer the 96th St. location over the Broad Ripple location just because there is better parking available.

I love Sakura

Sushi On The Rocks downtown has decent stuff, and usually runs some good specials. I think alot of us have been to BUDA Lounge on Mass Ave lately, but their sushi was awesome and it's truly a hole-in-the-wall.

How about Kroger on Southport Rd? ;)

I've not been to sakura but have heard good things........46 degrees is open for lunch...I think BUDa opens at 1 - but it is VERY small....not sure that they could accommodate us......

Ideally, sushi should be served at room temperature. But, since there is no guarantee that whatever restaurant you guys decide on will be using "Sashimi-Grade" fish, well, it's safer if it has been frozen to -4 F to kill off any parasites.

Any chance at looking into a group discount for these outings? Maybe calling around to a few places and asking if they would give us 10-15 % off the bill if 20 or more of us showed up. It's worth looking into.

Here's a link to sushi restaurants in and around the Indy area:

Nicki, Would you like IndyDining.com - more specifically me, to look into discounts, accommodations, etc? ; )

Oh yay! I assume that means you are working with Jeremy? Congrats!

I'd love for you to look into that!

I am, very happy about it. Sounds like you guys had a great turn out. I could call Sakura to see if they can accommodate a large party. I've been there after the "main" lunch crowd is gone and it's usually pretty open after 1. I'll call tomorrow.

I went to Sakura today, it was yumm-a-rific. I asked about our May outing. They said that they could accomodate us. They take reservations. However, she did indicate that it would be best if we could arrive earlier (11:15 was her suggestion) than later. I don't know how that would work our for everyone's schedule.

Works for me. I can do early.

Sakura is my favorite sushi place. I also could do 11:15.
